Vile Dependency 5 – Final

Ignoring my plead for forgiveness. Amy snapped out of her trance. Her eyes blinking towards the stairs and my bleeding arm. Without a second thought she headed for the stairs.1

“Don't move,” Amy spoke softly reaching for the stairs. “Don't move Sarah. Keep your hand on that arm. I am going to call an ambulance,” she said as she ran up the stairs and out of sight.2

I held onto my arm doing as I was told. The blood spilled between my fingers. The sickly sweet smell drifting up my nose. It made me nausea's. With my free hand I rubbed my stomach fighting the acid back down with every deep breath I took to avoid being sick.3

I held my breath for what seemed like forever trying to ignore the screaming pain and the sickening smell.4

It reminded me of the time my sister had been a cutter. How she had rags covered in blood hidden in her bed that my parents had found when the police where searching her room. The smell of old and fresh blood had caused be to vomit continuously until I fainted outside my sisters door. I vowed to never have to face that demon again. Yet here I was. Trying to protect my lover. When I had just made the biggest regret of my life.5

A few minutes passed. I was beginning to think that something had happened to Amy. Why was she taking so long? Was she really calling the ambulance or had the pain of seeing me in this situation caused her to relapse before she had the chance to consider help?6

I stood up. My hand still over the wound. I was beginning to feel light headed. The room was swirling around me. Spinning. Little stars had appeared out of know where like in the cartoons when the characters had been hit over the head. My eyes started to blur. My vision becoming tunneled. 7

I looked up at the staircase trying to bring myself to my feet without falling from underneath my wobbling knees. Amy ran down the stairs two at a time, three at a time. She looked to be jumping, but that could have just been my imagination.8

Amy rushed to my side holding what looked to be two belts in her hand. Silently she wrapped the first belt at the top of my wound tightening it till it cut into my skin. Then she proceeded to do the same with the second best.9

“I'm sorry,” I struggled to say. I tried to reach for her with my free hand put she pushed me back grabbing my shoulders to pull me into a sitting position.10

“This should stop the bleeding until the ambulance arrives,” Amy said flatly. “They said it would not take long. So relax and try not to panic. Panicking will only make things worse.”11

I frowned. 12

“Did you not here what I said Amy,” I cried. Hot tears where swelling in my eyes, falling as I blinked. Staring painfully at Amy. 13

“I said I'm sorry.”14

Amy scowled.15

“Well it's a little late for that,” she said coldly looking up at the stairs.16

Outside I could hear the sound of sirens screaming through the street. I stopped listening to the sound of the door thumping open. I watched as three men ran down the stairs.17

“Is this Sarah?” one of the men asked Amy pointing to where I was sitting against the wall.18

“Yes,” she nodded. 19

“I'll let you guys take it from here.”

Author notes

Last time I worked on this story was late July in 2008. I decided to finish it as it was long overdue to be finished. I hope for the people who enjoyed the series that they might enjoy reading the Final part.
