Rise and Run part 1

Ah, Hell. One werewolf was enough to deal with. But two? Is Joseph really trying to kill me?, I thought. But every time I got a look in those big dark chocolate brown eyes of his I couldn't help but agree to go along with whatever he wanted. God, was I an idiot or what? (don't answer that) Man, my little brother could get me to do anything for him with those puppy dog eyes. If only I'd been born a werewolf too. I'd be able to use that technique.2

"Are you sure your okay with this, Kate?" Joseph asked. "I just need you to watch Seth for a few days while I go and figure out whats going on with the pack." I nodded my head as he came and stood by me. Even though he was two years younger than me he was over a foot taller. An affect of the werewolf side of him. 4

"It'll be fine, Jo," I sighed as I looked down at Seth. I really didn't want to be reunited with Seth. But as I said, I couldn't turn down Joseph. "It will all go over smoothly. Just make sure your back within the week."6

"Okay, Kate," he kissed my forehead and turned away. I didn't hear him leave but I knew that could go and look outside right now and his car would be gone. Seth was a little banged up from a run in with a few solar witches the night before. His jaw was cut and his arms were rubbed raw. He had a few bruises around his sides and a couple of long gashes along his legs.8

I did not look forward to him waking up. I'd known the entire pack of werewolves since I was a little girl. My dad had been one and my mom was a turned werwolf. Obviously any girl would be a human. If I wanted to be a werewolf then I'd have to claim a mate and have him change me. I'd thought about it about eight years ago when I'd just started high school. Thats why I didn't want to watch Seth. Because he'd been the first and only choice. We'd dated for about five years when I realized what he was like in the bedroom. I'd talked to my mom and found out that all of them were dominant. This would be an awkward reunion between me and Seth.10

"Kate?" he groaned rollign over. I leaned down and brushed his damp hair away from his face. 12

"You look like hell rolled in ice," I said next to his ear. He chuckled a bit and then sighed as if it hurt. Which it probably did.14

"Feels like it," he muttered. "Where...?" he didn't finish. 16

"My house, Jo dropped you off," I said. "Theres something up with the pack and he had to go. He'll be back by the end of the week. Had to fly out to Tifton, Georgia."18

"God," he gasped and I leaned forward to see what hurt. "Baby, I need you to hold me." I pulled away but his arm shot out and his hand gripped my wrist. He squeezed tight and I flinched.20

"Seth, let go of me right now," I ordered. This was not good. A werewolf in the break down was a bad bad thing. "That hurts, Seth. I'm human you know if you squeeze any harder my wrist will snap. I'm not as strong as you, Nor do I heal as fast as you. Now, let go." He reliquished his hold a bit, but didn't let go.22
