The sun was high in the sky.1

My strawberry blonde hair tousled from play.2

Water wrinkled fingers tracing foot prints left in the sand.3

Entwined circles, where Alexander had chased me.4

Grabbing me around the waist, hoisting me into the air.5

Making me squeal with laughter.6

Giggling from his stumbling through the sand.7

Suddenly his face grew somber, putting me down in the sand.8

"Alex, whats wrong?"9

"Lyn you know I love you right? I would do anything in my power to stay with you. Please Jocelyn promise me no matter what happens you'll always remember me."10

Looking into his eyes I see something untold, some deep dark pain.11

"I promise"12

With that said he held me close to his chest, caressing my hair, the ran off without a goodbye.13

Panicked I awake, what had kept him from me? what was it that I'd seen in his eyes? That's it I need answers, no longer can I live on small pieces of who I used to be.14

Once again I found myself at Anthemoessa. Talk about looking for love and answers in all the wrong places.15

Arriving upon the shore I find Alison, the blonde blue-eyed siren striking up the chorus. 16

Her eyes flash to me, meeting mine.17

"Quick Jocelyn, join in there is a whole Navy fleet. the Gods are smiling down upon us today!"18

"I WILL NEVER JOIN IN WITH YOUR CHORUS OF UNHOLY DEATH!"19

I stayed treading in the water, there is no way I can just watch all these men perish.20

From one of the sinking ships I hear a frantic "Help!" that sounds vaguely familiar.21

Swimming faster than I ever have before.22

I find a young man not much older than me sinking fast.23

I drop, dip below the surface grabbing onto him.24

His sandy hair fluttering in the water, steal blue eyes slowly closing.25

I pull him to a small deserted island I frequent.26

Next to his limp body I sit.27

Though the facial features are some what old he strongly resembles my Alexander.28

Jocelyn get real! its highly unlikely! its been four years since you've laid eyes on him, how do you know you're not changing his appearance in your mind?29

He stirs his soft eyes lock with mine.30

Slight fear and shock leave.31

His hand grazes my cheek just as I move away.32

"Please don't leave so soon, this is the best dream about you I've had. It feels so real for once."33

What!?!?!34

"This isn't a dream, what do you mean by 'you dream of me' who are you, do we know each other?"35

He looks at me, completely in awe36

His eyes slowly see my fin, almost weeping.37

"Oh" he starts sadly "I guess not, you just look like a girl I once knew, the girl I used to love."38

"I'm sorry, what happened to her?"39

"I don't know, I hope she's still alright. Four years ago I left her, because I had to join the Navy. I haven't been back since. It would hurt too much to go back and find out something had happened to her."40

"What was her name?"41

"Jocelyn"42

With that one word my breath was taken away, my eyes burned as they welled up with tears43

"Alexander?" almost afraid to say the name aloud.44

"Yeah...Lyn is that you?"45

Tears finally penetrated, keeping any words from leaving my mouth46

I merely nodded my head, covering my face with hands.47

Before I knew it I was in his arms again48

"Lyn its alright, don't cry. I'm here, I'm here again. Oh Lyn, I'm so sorry."49
