'Perfectly Imperfect'

Perfection does not exist. It is an illusion created by a singular mind to identify completion and since we all in fact have our own perspectives and tastes, how can one word possibly define the whole? An individual's preference will always differ from the next thus making perfection forever imperfect. That said, can the word imperfect even exist if its partner can never be used?

Well, this is quite a bit shorter than what I wanted for my rant contest... You wouldn't happen to have anything longer, would you?
500 to 2000 words is the range I'm lookin' for.
You also didn't put "All Hail Betty" in the Author's Notes.

    I agree with you whole-heartedly.
Perfection is but an opinion of what one desires in order to live in a fantasy world. It does nothing to assuage their insecurities, and everything to deem moderate lifestyles a bust.

In my opinion, imperfection -is- perfection. We're all perfectly human, and humanity is imperfect in every way.

The ending question was a nice touch, too. Deep. ^^

    Yes, quite...

...as it also lends credence to the theory, 'beauty is in the eye of the beholder' only let's make it 'perfection is in the eye of the beholder'. All the world moons over DaVinci's painting the Mona Lisa. Then cue Nelson from 'Simpsons' to walk up, point and then go, 'ha ha'!

  • Perfection. The ideal state. You´re right, of course, nothing and no one can be truly perfect. Just like nothing and no one can be truly beautiful, or ugly, or normal. It´s all just a matter of opinion, perspective.

What´s perfect to me may be imperfect to someone else, and vice versa.

The word can be used though, just not in a ... perfect way.

    Good point

I have found that you can't be perfect for in life you will always not be good at one thing or another. You can't win every race and you can't win at every game. You can't keep everthing brand new and unscratched and you just can't do everything right, so perfection is just a term to say what something we will never live to. Thanks for writing this.

  • Whoah.

???? Your so called "rambling" is deep and thoughtful. I'm in complete agreement with your words and am very stunned. This was great.
