Bucketsful

1

Oh sure, it seemed easy enough. Grab a brush, slap it on, cover the scars and marks of life.  Get on with it.  Simple -- until one comes to the almighty choice -  Baked Scone or Carolina Brass?  Bullfrog or Gentle Grass? Clay dust, Gaucho or Cinnamon Brulee?  “Don’t you have something the color of cattail leaves just as they begin to gray”?2

Pints, quarts, test, mix, test.  Imagine from an angle, squint, consider, condemn and try again - my patchwork of indecision gradually filling my walls.  3

But, today's the day. With new resolve, I race the storm cloud to the store, slap down my bucks and carry my buckets to the door just as the skies let go. Others less sure, gather round the doors waiting amidst the clutter of sacrificial umbrellas - cave dwellers, hoping for a break.  But I, having met the enemy, am unafraid of bolts and booms and buckets. Defiance in hand, I move boldly to the front and emerge to thunderous applause.   4

Move over Gene Kelly, I'm comin' home!5

    "I'm sinking in the rain,
    Just sinking in the rain,
No hope for my boat, and
    I'm drowning again . . ."

    Ahhh... decisions, decisions, decisions.
Don't worry if it all goes wrong you can always paint it all over again! (now there's an encouraging thought LOL!)

Get the music on and enjoy slapping that paint around!
    Good luck, Kyla X

'oneluckygirl' I'm with you it's worth getting wet just to have the hot shower when you get home. --- (and painting is the pits).

My favorite color is burnt quesadilla, with just a CC of shaved peach mixed in for extra warmth. That or white.

Actually mildew is about how it feels after all these days of rain and humdity, doesn't it? That's exactly why I'm in the good old A/C, dabbing away with my brush.

Uh-oh! Some one is redecorating. Haha, that's right, don't let the rain slow you down. Personally I'd use the rain to paint the walls of my room...metaphorically (spelling???) of course. The colour you walls end up being after you paint with the rain, though, is often called 'Mildew'.

Linen Napkin, Dry Earth, Mark Twain House Peach... and the color of cat tail leaves that have been cut for three days.

    LOL -

Next hurdle, what goes where? All my rooms are open around a huge center area so I have many quirky ideas as to how to do what wall. (everything facing east gets...) Leave it to me to make it complicated. LOLOL
