Amber and Jos' parents were on the verge of insanity when they saw the door swing open. After three long hours the surgeons had finished. Amber and Jos' parents hung on every word the doctor said.2
"What do you mean he may not make it through the night?!" cried Mrs. Delia. "That's my baby!"3
Mr. Blake tried to comfort his wife, but it was no use. 4
"I assure you Mr. and Mrs. Forte... we'll do everything we can to keep him alive," the doctor said, "but right now... it seems the chances of him surviving aren't looking good."5
"Well what happened for you to do this?" asked Jos' dad.6
"Well... we're not exactly sure why his heart stopped. We'll have to run more tests to make sure it doesn't happen again though." explained the doctor.7
"Listen to me ok! Your JOB is to save my son... DO YOUR JOB!" Blake said impatiently. "DO YOUR JOB!"8
"We're going to do everything we can ok sir."9
"I have one question..." Amber said as the doctor was turning around. "What percent do you think he'll make it through the night with?"10
"Well right now... it seems like its a 15 to 20 percent chance."11
"If he makes it through the night, will he make it?" she asked.12
"The first night's always the hardest, but I'd say it's more likely. Yes." 13
"When can we see him?" asked Jos' mother.14
"Soon..." the doctor said as he went back into the OR.15
