What a shame we all became such fragile, broken things8

~ I thrust my kunai into the warrior without any mercy. He didn’t deserve it. Or did he? It wouldn’t matter anymore because the Leaf village was under attack by the Sound village. Those careless people… I cannot stand them. I bent down behind a tree and took out a pad of paper marking some quick notes for a report on the enemy, how many of the Sound ninja’s I had eliminated, and the strategies the Sound have used. I had heard a sudden clamor and found myself face to face with a Sound ninja, his kunai cutting into my neck. ~9

A memory remains just a tiny spark; I give it all my oxygen10

~ The ninja looked surprised and spoke gently to me, “You’re just a little girl, what are you doing on the battle field?” 12

I struggled to breath, but managed to force out words, “I am a Jonin… for your information. Just let me kill you; it won’t hurt a bit.”13

He howled with laughter, “How are you going t-…” He choked on his own words. Blood spewed from the side of his mouth as I watched him fall to the ground suffering in pain, the kunai plunging into his torso. ~14

~ I stopped at a river and scooped water into my hands, drinking it. I sat up and leaned against the tree, thinking about the man… about his pain, then about my pain. I tried to shake it out of my mind, but it kept returning. “There’s no time to think about him, I must fulfill my mission.” I stood up and turned when I felt tender hands latch onto my shoulders. ~29
