"Aren't you the one who's always going on about love at first sight?" I reminded him. "Practice what you preach."2

"But when she looks you in the eyes…" I taunted.4

"What are you talking about?" he demanded.5

"You just need to stop for a sec, and take a breath-"6

"Pretty soon, the two of you'll be inseparable," I went on.8

"You're so immature-"9

"You like her. You'll get married," I aggravated him pointlessly, "You just don't know it yet."10

"That's getting really old-"11

"What've you, known her six minutes?" I questioned. "And I'm sure all you're thinking is, 'Oh, Charlotte, please be mine! This afternoon, at 7:05!'"12

"There is no 7:05 in the afternoon, you idiot-"13

"I feel bad for Charlotte, that poor unfortunate soul-"14

"I'm not dealing with this. It's too early-"15

"That's right, Nick. Walk away. After all, you two are just friends, right?" I yelled as he disappeared into the kitchen. My mom gave me a pleading look before following him.16
