I am alone, and it is dark.1
I can hear footsteps stepping through the forest floor, speeding 2
up as time goes on.3
I try to run away, but my feet are weak and I am becoming dizzy. I 4
feel a presence coming nearer to me, and I scream, but nothing comes out.5
The sinking feeling in the bottom of my stomach has yet to disappear, the fear to strong for words.6
At this moment, as I wait for the attack, I think of what will happen to me if I die. I wonder if I’ll survive it this time. 7
The footsteps become silent, and my mind is blank. The feeling is worse as I can tell that the predator is near, and ready for the attack.8
Just then, a body pounces on me, and I feel teeth sink into my neck.9
I did the only thing I could do.10
I screamed. 11
