The pain of watching that person get on with their life, barely noticing your existence, watching them laugh, and wishing that they were laughing with you, rather than one of their other friends. Wishing, however futilely, that they might, one day notice you, and smile a special smile, just for you, rather than just walking past as through they don’t notice you, don’t notice they way you smile just because you’ve just seen them, the way a room seems to light up just when they’ve entered it. To love another person is to see the face of God. Yeah. Right.
