Thunder of Light

This be te tale of Light and Sound1

And how with Rain it came to be found2

One night in the home of the Spirits3

The littlest one made a cry so soft, only two could hear it4

The Spirit of Water disappointed and sullen5

Shed tears onto the world until approached by the God of Sound all of the sudden6

"What is wrong? Why so sad?7

I know, I will do something that will make you glad!"8

At that, Sound raised his hands and they collided9

Sending a sonorous boom to the people who were then frightened10

The Spirit of Water let out a little laugh of joy11

For the Sound had made the entire Earth his toy12

In the distance came another Spirit13

One who wasn't too far not to hear it14

"What are you two doing? Making all this using chatter15

I too will like to know what is the matter."16

"I am trying to make Water smile.17

Something that you haven't done in awhile."18

Lightning, now with a frown on her face,19

Thought of a way to put Sound in his place20

After rubbing her hands, she released a lightning bolt21

Causing a chill to run down the spine of the humans with a jolt22

Water rolled around on her cloud23

"Top that will ya," Lightning said to Sound24

The King of Spirits now got very mad25

These actions, he thought, should not have been had26

In his fit of rage he called on Sound and Lightning27

To truly understand why his own were fighting28

After explaining to their wise King29

He sat on his throne and couldn't say a thing30

"I understand why you both have taken these actions31

So I have an idea that will give all great satisfaction32

Whenever it rains on the Earth33

Lightning shall act first34

Next and not too far to bound35

Shall be you, the thunderous Sound."36

And now my friends, I have told ye37

Of how Lightning and Thunder came to be38

Author notes

The rhyming is cheesy and a little forced
