Chapter 4 Prey

Jinxi woke up, rubbed her eyes, and yawned. Stella, who was on the other side of the room, also woke. Squishy rubbed his little eyes as Stella got out of the bed. 1

“Good morning,” smiled Stella.2

Jinxi looked up at her, smiled, and got up. 3

“Is Liana still on the bed?” asked Jinxi, walking over to Liana. “Oh my gosh!” said Jinxi, her jaw almost dropping. She stared at Liana who was lying on Fang’s chest. “Aw,” said Stella, also walking over.4

“I am so gonna tease her,” laughed Jinxi. 5

Stella looked at Jinxi and smiled, “Should we start breakfast?” Jinxi looked at Stella, who nodded.6

The two girls got to work in the kitchen, and had just about finished up when the clock struck seven o’ clock. They walked back into the room and sat on Stella’s bed. “Wanna play cards?” asked Jinxi, looking over to Fang and Liana. 7

Stella nodded, and walked over to the table to grab the deck of cards.8

“You think they’ll be ok?” asked Jinxi. 9

“Yes, why do you ask?” inquired Stella, shuffling the cards as she walked back to the bed.10

“I don’t know, he is a vampire and well she is… Liana,” answered Jinxi, trying to make her point.11

Stella gently sat down on the bed and looked at Jinxi, “Love comes in unimaginable places,” she smiled. 12

Jinxi looked at Stella, her mood changing. Liana’s eyes fluttered open and she saw Jinxi and Stella on the bed. Liana smiled wide; her teeth flashing until then felt something on her back. She slowly turned her body, positioning it to see what was behind her. Her face flushed a deep shade of pink as she stared down at a sleeping Fang. His bare, chiseled chest slowly rose and fell as he breathed. His lush red lips were slightly parted as his hot breath escaped his lips. Liana went to move but was quickly stopped, by Fang’s quick arm. His arm draped her waist his hand held her side. As Liana went to slip out, Fang got a better grip around her waist and pulled her closer to his cold chest. Liana’s face went red, and she stared down at Fang. His facially expression was blank, and he looked almost dead. Liana started to move again, but Fang pulled Liana closer, if that was even possible.. Liana closed her eyes, as she was pushed right up against Fang’s chest. Just then there was a knock on the door. 13

NO! Liana thought. She closed her eyes, relaxed her muscles, and gently lied against his chest, acting as is if she were asleep. 14

Jinxi got up and walked over to the door. 15

She smiled and moved over as Salem and Adrian walked in. 16

“Hello,” said Adrian, looking down at Jinxi. 17

“Hi,” Jinxi smiled back, her ears perking up as Salem flashed her a smile.18

Liana tried listening in and quickly opened her eyes everyone now and again. Fang’s skin was cold and his body still. Liana listened for a heart beat. She tilted her head so her ear was on his chest and listened. Liana closely listened but heard nothing. 19

They really don’t have a heart thought Liana. She slightly opened her eyes and went to say something to herself, when she remembered she was playing dead at the moment. 20

“Is that Fang and Liana?” asked Salem, trying not to laugh. 21

“Yes,” answered Stella, looking at her cards. 22

Salem looked at Stella, then at Fang and Liana. He kept looking back and forth, and then burst out hysterical. “He’ll never live this down,” he smiled. 23

Adrian looked over at Fang and Liana, a blank expression on his face. “Thank you, so much,” he said, turning around to face Stella, gentleness in his voice as he spoke. 24

Stella looked up at him, her mood changing, “That’s what friends do for each other.” 25

Everyone looked at Stella considering what she said.26

“Yeah,” they all mumbled. 27

Liana turned her head, and Fang rolled onto his side, Liana in front of him now. Liana’s face went red, and she started to freak out. Fang’s head was resting on her shoulder, and his hand was still around her waist. Salem looked over at them and laughed again, this time in a more mocking way.28

“Wanna eat while they wake up?” asked Jinxi, her stomach growling.29

“Sure,” the others answered, walking into the dining room. 30

“How long does he sleep?” Liana mumbled. 31

Fang nudged his head on Liana’s shoulder, making her spaz out. As Fang breathed in and out, the air hit Liana’s ear, making her spine tingle. Liana tried moving again, but Fang merely moved his head. Liana’s face was still red, and she stopped moving. Fang finally started to wake up. He gently took his arm from around Liana, and rubbed his eyes. Liana closed her eyes, hoping he would notice. Fang put his hands at his sides, then stopped breathing for a second. Liana turned her head to look at him. Her face was right in front of his, and he stared straight at her. Fang’s ruffled black hair fell in front of his eyes, giving him a seductive look. Liana continued to stare at him, then turned back around. Fang took his head from her shoulder and sat up. He pushed the hair from his eyes, as the blanket fall. Liana continued to lay in her position, her eyes closed, frozen in place. Fang looked down at her and gave a crooked grin. 32

He leaned over to her and whispered in her ear, “Thanks.” Fang then got up and shuffled over into the dining room. 33

Liana breathed a sigh of relief, as she sat up. She looked around the room. “What the hell was the last comment for?” Liana mumbled angrily. “The fact that I was like sleeping with him, ew!” said Liana. She got up, made her bed, and then slowly walked in the dining room. 34

“Good morning sleepy head,” said Jinxi. 35

“Did you sleep well?” teased Salem, his ears perking up. 36

Liana just stared at him. 37

The others stared at her, waiting for an answer. 38

“I know I slept well,” smiled Fang, ruffling Adrian’s hair. 39

Adrian looked up at him, and Salem laughed hysterically. Liana looked down at the floor, her face red. She took a seat and started to eat. The others started to talk again. Fang sat staring at the wall, as if waiting for something to happen. Liana raised an eyebrow, when there was a knock on the door. 40

“I’ll get it,” she insisted, quickly getting up from the table. She opened the door and saw a teacher. 41

“Hello,” he said, “I am here to inform you that we will be arriving at the school tomorrow morning.” 42

“Oh, thank you,” said Liana smiling.43

“Are you ok, you have a lot of cuts,” asked the teacher, a stricken look on his face. 44

“Oh, yes,” Liana answered, pushing down her green sleeves. 45

“Well then please go to the nurse,” said the teacher hesitantly, walking off.46

Liana nodded as she shut the door. She walked back into the room. 47

“What’s wrong?” asked Jinxi, cocking her head to the side. 48

“I was told to go to the nurse,” murmured Liana. 49

“Oh, then we should all go,” suggested Salem, looking at everyone’s cuts and bruises. 50

“You’re right,” said Stella rising from the table. 51

“Let’s go then,” smiled Salem being the first to walk out. 52

Everyone shrugged and followed behind him. They were quiet as they walked through the halls. 53

“How is this carriage thing so big?” asked Jinxi. “People like me can get lost,” she whined.54

“Magic,” answered Stella calmly. 55

“Oh, yeah,” laughed Jinxi. 56

The group arrived at a door, and Salem just walked in. There was a pause and then the others followed after. Stepping into the warm room, Liana looked around in amazement. It was a huge room, it almost looked like a hospital. The room was white, and around the room lined hospital beds, with people in them. The lighting was beautiful, considering the fog outside. It smelt of cinnamon and vanilla, unlike most hospital rooms. Also, unlike most hospital rooms, it looked welcoming. 57

“Wow,” she mumbled her eyes exploring the room. 58

“Hello,” said a woman, walking towards the group. 59

“Hi,” answered Adrian smiling politely.60

The woman smiled back, she clopped over. Her hoofed feet hitting the echoing tiles of the room. The lady walk out from behind a medical counter, revealing a horse body. Liana and Jinxi looked at her in amazement. They had both heard of centaurs, but never actually seen one in person. She was beautiful, with long brown flowing hair that reached where her torso and the horse body merged. Her body was a light chestnut brown, and her skin, a dark tan. 61

“May I help you?” she asked. 62

“Yes, we came to get some cuts checked out,” said Adrian, trying not to draw attention to the group. 63

“Ok, then I’ll see you one at a time,” she smiled. 64

“Thank you,” they all replied. 65

The woman walked away with Adrian trailing behind her. 66

“Now remove your shirt and pants behind the curtain,” ordered the nurse.67

Adrian nodded and walked behind the curtain. 68

“I’m guessing you’ve been here before?” asked Jinxi. 69

“Yup,” Salem answered proudly, not sensing Jinxi’s sarcasm. 70

“Dude still don’t have a shirt on!” laughed Salem, looking at Fang. 71

Fang looked down and realized Salem was right. He just shrugged his shoulders and looked around. 72

“Now turn back around,” said the nurse. 73

Liana looked at the curtain, then looked around. 74

The room was full of many people. One elf nurse was helping a cat girl get a needle out of her paw. Lying in another bed opposite of her, was a girl reading a floating book and drinking some tea. Liana smiled, and turned back around. Adrian walked out from behind the curtain, with bandages on his cheeks, and walked over to the group. “You next dear,” said the nurse, pointing to Liana. 75

Liana looked at her, and she nodded to come over. She quickly walked over. “Now, step behind the curtain please.” 76

Liana nodded and stepped behind the curtain. 77

“Please remove your shirt and pants, and I’ll be with you in a second,” said the nurse walking away. 78

Liana pulled her shirt over her head, and waited for the nurse. 79

“Oh my, we have an emergency, I will be right back,” said the nurse, looking at Liana. 80

Liana nodded and then just stood, staring at the wall. Fang and Adrian stood staring at each other, Fang raised an eyebrow and disappeared. Adrian’s smiled faded from his face, and he stared at the curtain, his eyes tracing the shadowy outlines. Liana continued staring at the wall, waiting to hear the centaur’s hooves. She looked left and right. Suddenly the hairs on the back of Liana’s neck stood up. She turned around but saw nothing there. Liana hesitantly faced the wall again. Again she heard something and turned around. It was the nurse. Liana raised an eyebrow 81

How the? she thought. 82

“So yes,” said the nurse, walking towards Liana. 83

Liana moved back against the wall trembling. Just then something appeared behind the nurse. Liana shivered and stayed against the wall. The thing that appeared was Fang. He came up behind the nurse and grabbed her mouth. Liana gasped, but at the same time was relived. 84

“You disgust me, you make men look shallow and sad!” whispered Fang, angrily. The nurse listened wide eyed, and nervous. 85

“Change back!” ordered Fang. 86

The nurse shook her head and Fang grabbed her around the waist and flung her. Liana stared in shock and horror. The centaur got thrown through the white curtain, and hit a medical tray. She fell and hit the ground with a loud bang. Liana picked up her shirt and covered herself. Fang walked over to the centaur and grabbed her by the throat. “You gonna change back now,” asked Fang, a frown on his face. 87

The others looked from the shivering Liana, to Fang and the nurse. 88

“Yes!” shouted the nurse, as Fang got a tighter grip. The nurse started to morph into a fourteen year-old boy. Liana stared at him. 89

“You disgust me you sick little perv,” said Fang, looking down at the boy. 90

Adrian and Salem looked at each other, Adrian rolled his and Salem burst out laughing. 91

“Who’s that?” asked Jinxi, staring at the boy. 92

“Oh, that’s Apollo, he’s a kid that Fang knows, he’s a shape shifter but sometimes uses his powers in the wrong way.” 93

“Yeah, but it’s sure as hell funny!” Salem burst out. 94

Adrian looked at him, a pitiful look on his face, shaking his head. 95

“What were you doing, better yet to an older woman, you make me sick, you give all men a bad name,” said Fang, and angry look on his face. 96

But weren’t we asleep in the same bed this morning, thought Liana, still covering herself. 97

“I’m sorry, just let go,” said the boy. 98

“No Apollo, this time there is no way out,” smiled Fang, his eyes red. 99

“No, no!” shouted the boy, squirming under Fang’s grasp. 100

“Say sorry,” said Fang, the smile fading. 101

“I’m sorry,” said the boy, almost crying. 102

“You’ll sure as hell be sorry,” said Fang, almost laughing. His eyes were bright red and an huge smile was plastered on his face. Liana stared in fear, and she quickly slipped back on her shirt. Fang started to grip tighter on the boy’s neck and his face started to turn red. Fang started to laugh as the boy chocked. Liana ran over to Fang, and flung her arms around him. 103

“Please stop, he’s just a kid,” said Liana. 104

Fang stood still and he stopped squeezing Apollo’s throat.105

Fang’s eyes started to fade back to emerald. Fang let go of Apollo, who fell to his knees. He started feeling for his throat and sprinted out the door like a jack rabbit. Fang’s eyes regained there normal emerald color again and he started to fall. Liana let go of his waist and caught Fang as he fell to the floor. She caught Fang and held him in her arms, looking down at his innocent face. She could tell his body was searching for energy. Poor thing she thought. 106

“You ok?” asked Adrian, walking over to the two. 107

“Yeah, fine thanks,” said Liana. She looked up at Adrian as he helped to lift Fang’s body. 108

“He’ll be ok right?” asked Liana.109

Adrian looked at her and nodded. Liana smiled as Adrian walked and laid Fang’s body on an open bed. The other people in the office just stared at them. 110

“Can we help you?” questioned Salem. 111

Just then the nurse walked in. 112

“Oh my, what happened in here?” asked the centaur. 113

“Oh, nothing,” everyone answered, looking down. 114

“Is everything alright?” asked the nurse, looking at the torn curtain, shattered glass objects, and scattered medical equipment. 115

“Yup,” the whole room answered. 116

Liana, Jinxi, and Stella stared in amazement. Liana slowly stared to get up. 117

“Um, I think we’ll be leaving now,” said Jinxi, starting to walk towards the door. 118

“No,” started Salem, “We should stay, Fang’s cuts will heal, and Adrian was checked up, the rest of us should get everything checked out.”119

Liana agreed and told the girls she’d meet them in her room. They all said there goodbyes, and Adrian, Liana, and Fang’s unconscious body headed towards their rooms. 120

“Bye,” said Adrian, escorting Liana into her room.121

“Bye,” smiled Liana, walking in and closing the door behind her.122

Adrian sighed, walking down the halls. His skin compared to Fang made him look as if he was carrying a dead body. Adrian neared the room, and opened the door. Fixing his grip on Fang. He walked in and threw lied him down on the bed and took a seat. He sat and waited in silence for Fang to wake.123

Jinxi was just finishing up with the nurse, when she peered out and saw Salem standing there smiling. She bite her lip, and her ears perked up. Her tail was between her legs, as she fixed her tee shirt. She took a deep breath and stepped out. Salem’s gaze quickly traveled to her, his ears perking up. She looked down at her hands, trying not to look at his expression.124

“So, you ok?” asked Adrian, as Fang opened his eyes. 125

“Yeah,” Fang answered, sitting up and resting against the bed board. He tilted his head back and brought his hand to his forehead. 126

“You need to be careful, you could hurt yourself if you keep going into that for such short periods of time,” said Adrian, looking up at the ceiling. 127

“Yeah, well no need to worry about that if you kill me first,” laughed Fang. Adrian looked at him and smiled. 128

“Yeah I meant to say I’m sorry for that,” said Adrian, looking down. 129

“No problem, you think after all the times this has happened I’d be annoyed at you now?” asked Fang, taking his head of the bed board. 130

There was a silence.131

“Liana’s really nice,” said Fang, looking at Adrian. 132

“Yeah,” said Adrian, looking up. 133

“She is so warm, but I’m just to cold,” said Fang, looking back up at the ceiling. “I wouldn’t worry about that, just be worried he doesn’t find out!” said Adrian, a serious look on his face. 134

Fang’s head quickly looked at Adrian. 135

“If he finds me I will kill him, I swear it!” said Fang, angrily. 136

“Well, just be careful I don’t wanna see you, Liana, or any of us get hurt,” said Adrian, sighing. 137

Fang ran his fingers through his jet black hair. 138

“So, what are you gonna do when we go back to the room?” asked Adrian. 139

“I don’t know, I was gonna have some fun I guess, wanna join in?” asked Fang, smiling. 140

“Hm…what?” asked Adrian, a amused smile on his face. He thought for a while, “Oh, sure, why not it should be fun,” laughed Adrian. 141

Liana smiled as Chaos trailed around her head. Liana rubbed his soft furry stomach as he rolled over on his side. The other two had come back and were playing cards as usual. They were waiting for the boys to come over. 142

He looked so different, but every time his eyes turn red something happens to him, he’s different. But, like why? thought Liana, looking up at the ceiling.143

Just then the door knob started to jostle. Salem popped his head in, and then Fang and Adrian walked in. Liana smiled and sat up. Chaos saw them, hopped off the bed, and made his way under the bed. 144

Fang and Adrian walked over to the bed Liana was laying on. They both took a seat on each side of her. Adrian looked at her smirking, as Fang moved closer to her. Salem walked over towards others, took a seat, and started to play their game. Fang continued inching closer to Liana and started to play with her hair, twirling it between his fingers. 145

What is he doing! 146

Liana stayed still as Fang pulled her to him. Adrian started to play with her hair, and twirl it in his fingers, as Fang brought her shoulder closer to him. Liana’s face went pink. 147

“Hey, you look beautiful in this outfit,” said Adrian, smiling, bringing his face closer to hers. 148

Fang brought his face near hers also. 149

“Hey cutie, how bout a kiss?” asked Fang, moving in on Liana. His eyes suddenly flashed red, giving Liana a scared feeling. 150

Adrian then pulled Fang. 151

“She’s mine!” he shouted. 152

“No!” shouted Fang back. 153

The two started to bicker back and forth. The two fought for some while, and Liana stayed in place. After about five minutes, Fang grabbed Adrian around the waist. “I’m sorry Adrian, you’re my only love,” said Fang grinned down at Adrian. “Fang your making me blush,” laughed Adrian, looking up at him. 154

“Oh, don’t be embarrassed,” said Fang, seductively. 155

Liana just stared at the two confused. 156

“We can both have her!” shouted Adrian and Fang, walking back over to the bed. 157

“Adrian should I have the first kiss, or you?” asked Fang, pulling Liana to him by the waist and his face being right in front of hers. 158

“You can, you kiss better, I should know,” laughed Adrian, playing with Liana’s hair. 159

“Then I guess your mine first,” Fang said, amused with himself. His hair fell in front of his eyes. 160

Liana’s face went bright red as Fang stared at her. His one hand was on her shoulder the other on her waist. 161

“May I?” asked Fang. 162

Liana looked at his emerald eyes and saw that they seemed to be changing. Fang’s chest was pressed against Liana’s as he started to move closer to her face. Liana’s face went bright red, as Fang’s eyes almost mesmerized her, and kept her from moving. She sat there, looking up at him, and then a smile drew on her face. As Fang’s lips went to touch hers, someone burst through the door. Everyone quickly looked to see Claudia, and the twins standing there. Luckily she had not seen what Fang had been doing. Fang’s eyes were still slightly emerald, but no words escaped his red lips. 163

“What are you all doing?” asked Claudia, walking in further. 164

“Nothing why?” asked Salem, sighing. 165

Liana snapped back into reality when she realized Claudia was there. She quickly and got up, but tripped over… air. As she fell, she was caught by Fang. The two were now nose to nose.166

“Hi,” smirked Fang.. 167

“Stop doing that, your doing it purposely!” shouted Claudia. 168

“No I’m not!” shouted Liana, as Fang helped her up. 169

“No, you are,” shouted Claudia again. 170

“No she’s not leave her alone,” said Fang, his eyes turning red. 171

“Stop standing up for her!” screamed Claudia, slapping Fang’s cheek. 172

All went silent and everyone looked at Fang. The area which she had slapped him stood out against his pale skin. The whole room remained silent. 173

“That will teach you to go against your love” smiled Claudia, proud of herself. “Fang, would you give me a kiss?” asked Claudia walking closer to him. 174

Fang’s head turned to look at her. His eyes shined, and he pulled Liana closer to him. His hand was around her waist and her arms around his. Fang then gave and evil smile. 175

“This is on purpose,” he said, amusement in his voice. Fang looked down at Liana and pressed his lips gently against hers. His eyes closed, Liana looked up at him her eyes wide, then she slowly closed her eyes.176

Claudia stared at the two, a horrified look on her face. Liana felt like she was in heaven, light as a feather, and had no intention of moving. Fang slowly pulled away, letting his lips brush against Liana’s as he moved. Fang looked back at Claudia, and smiled again. 177

“You Bitch!” screamed Claudia. 178

“Get her!” shouted Claudia. 179

What the? thought Liana. 180

Just then the two twins screamed, they sounded like banshees. From both of them unfurled a pair of gold wings. They quickly glided by, picking Liana up by the waist and flying out the door. Liana screamed as she was held against her will. 181

“Let go!” screamed Liana. 182

“No, you took the prince’s kiss!” shouted the harpies. 183

What? thought Liana. 184

Everything was passing by fast, but she could feel the change in direction as the wind blew against her. When the wind stopped and they threw her against the wall she let out a groan. She hit the wall with a loud bang, and fell to the floor with a thump. 185

“Ah…” Liana moaned in pain. She looked around to see a bright pink and yellow room. “Holy shi….” started Liana. 186

“I can’t believe you stole the prince’s kiss!” shouted Madeline. 187

“Yeah!” hissed Madelyn. 188

The two started to yell at Liana but she tuned them out, thinking about a way out over their meaningless ranting. 189

“Why do you call him the prince?” asked Liana. 190

“Phff, she doesn’t even know,” laughed Madeline. 191

“Know What!” shouted Liana. 192

Just then the door burst open and Claudia walked in. 193

“Fantastic,” mumbled Liana under her breath. 194

“You,” started Claudia. She walked over to Liana, laughing. She bent down to Liana’s level, because was curled up on the floor. “You,” she repeated with a maniacal grin. 195

“You’ll learn what happens when you mess with the prince,” said Claudia. “Apparently not,” laughed Liana, her hand on her arm. Claudia’s smile faded and she hit Liana with the nearest object. 196

“You think I’ve never been hit before?” asked Liana, laughing. 197

“What?” asked Claudia. She frowned and then hit Liana again, causing Liana to collapse. Liana was trying to hold in, as she watched her own blood drip down her arm. Liana felt a weird sensation in her chest, and her eyes started to flash red on and off. 198

Fang’s eyes shrank, and he had a hurting sensation in his chest. 199

“Where are they?” asked Jinxi. “Where’d they take her?” she demanded. 200

Adrian and Salem looked at each other concerned. Fang started to feel limber and Adrian looked at him afraid. 201

“Is it…” trailed off Adrian. 202

Fang looked at him and nodded. 203

“Another vampire,” said Fang, his red eyes searching around. 204

“Well, we have to find her before he does!” said Adrian. 205

Fang listened then looked down at the floor, ideas racing through his mind.206

Liana tried to get up, but Claudia grabbed her hair and started to thresh her around. 207

“Stop,” mumbled Liana. 208

“Why, you are not a princess, he could never love you, and you could never love the monster he becomes, he is mine!” shouted Claudia, pushing Liana’s head against the wall. 209

Liana breathed heavy as she tried to stay conscience. Please find me soon thought Liana. 210

Fang ran through the hallways, Adrian trailing behind him. The other three had been with Fang and Adrian, but they got separated. Fang’s eyes scanned left and right, checking nooks and crannies, leaving not one place un-looked. 211

“Fang slow down!” shouted Adrian, trying to catch up. 212

“He won’t find whoever it is at this pace…will he?” asked Adrian. 213

Fang kept running not processing the thought. 214

“We’re not taking that chance, not again!” shouted Fang, back. 215

Claudia dropped the object and started to walk away. The two twins followed behind Claudia, all whispering. 216

“Discipline, that was all she needed,” smirked Claudia. 217

The two twins giggled and then nodded in agreement. 218

Liana looked up at them, then tried to get to her feet. Claudia frowned as she saw Liana getting up. She stumbled and started to walk towards the door. 219

Fang’s chest hurt, and his pace stated to slow. 220

“Are we getting closer?” shouted Adrian. 221

“Yes,” mumbled Fang, back. 222

They turned another corner, and continued on there search. 223

“Don’t push yourself, you might go full out,” said Adrian, Fang right next to him now. 224

Fang was breathing heavy, forcing himself to go further, not listening to Adrian. 225

Liana tripped and fell to the floor. Claudia laughed as she watched Liana try to get back up. She had almost reached the door and was balancing herself on the knob. Her hands tried hard to grasp the doorknob, but the blood made it slippery and hard to grasp. She was about to turn it when, someone else opened the door. Liana almost fell back but she was caught before she hit the floor. Liana’s eyes were closed, but she looked up to see a tall boy holding her up. Liana’s body tried to hold on, but just started to shut down. Liana went to say thank you, but her vision faded to black. 226

The boy looked down at Claudia and the twins, then at he puddles of blood lining the floor. 227

“We…” started Claudia afraid. 228

The boy had not facial expression, but instead just walked out, Liana in his arms. The two harpies looked at each other whimpering in fear. 229

The feeling started to go away, “Crap!” shouted Fang, stopping. 230

“What?” asked Adrian. 231

“He found it,” said Fang, looking down at the floor. 232

“No there’s no way!” shouted Adrian. 233

“Come on!” whispered Fang, starting to speed his pace. 234

Adrian took a deep breath and followed behind him. Fang looked left and right looking at the doors. 235

“This way!” ordered Fang, his tone uneasy and breathless. 236

The two burst open a door and came in. 237

“Where is she!” shouted Fang and Adrian. 238

Claudia, Madeline, and Madelyn all looked up at him, almost worried looks on their faces. 239

“No!” Fang mumbled. 240

Adrian was mesmerized looking at the puddles of blood lining the floor. 241

“What happened in here?” asked Adrian, staring at the blood. 242

Fang then looked at the door. He saw blood dripping from the doorknob. Dipping his finger in the blood and held it to his face. His red eyes examined the blood, and it started to turn black. 243

“Fang?” asked Adrian, his face puzzled. 244

Fang looked up at him, and he ran out. 245

Adrian looked behind him, and quickly ran to catch up with Fang. The two left the girls, alone in the cold room, the door wide open. 246

“Do you think that blood was from him?” asked Adrian. 247

“No, it would have been black on contact,” said Fang, scanning left and right again. “He can’t and won’t hurt her!” Fang growled. 248

Adrian started to trail behind. 249

“Fang, wait up!” shouted Adrian. 250

Fang had no intention of slowing his pace and he continued to run. Adrian stopped, taking deep breathes. 251

“Fang…” he tried to say panting. “He’s gonna go full out, and he might not make it this time!” said Adrian, running back to find the others. Adrian turned left and right, rerouting his way back to the room to find the others. He continued through the maze like hallways until he saw the others looking around. 252

“Guys!” he called, running towards them. 253

Salem and Jinxi turned around looking at him. 254

“What’s wrong?” asked Salem. 255

Adrian looked at him an uneasy expression on his face. 256

“Is everything alright?” asked Stella, looking at him.257

Adrian shook his head, the others grew weary faces. 258

Liana woke up and quickly sat herself up. She was in a dark room, nothing much could be seen. She quickly got up in search of a window. She found it and threw the blinds open. The window was covered in dust and mold, but what little light seeped through revealed the room to be Adrian, Fang, and Salem’s. 259

“How did I get here, the person that picked me up wasn’t one of them, was it?” Liana mumbled. She looked at her arms, and saw that her cuts were cleaned and healed. “How?” thought Liana. She remembered what Claudia had been saying to her. “Prince?” Liana asked herself, “What did she mean by that?” 260

“Where is Fang and Liana,” asked Salem. 261

“Fang ran off, and… he took Liana,” said Adrian, looking down. 262

“What?” asked Salem, his eyes widening. 263

Adrian looked up at him and nodded. 264

“Fang is almost full vampire, this isn’t good, and we can’t find Liana, all we saw were puddles of blood,” said Adrian. 265

Stella and Jinxi looked at each other their mouths wide open, in shock and fear. 266

Liana continued to look around the room, no intention of leaving, afraid of getting kidnapped again. She sat on someone’s bed, guessing Fang’s, cause the sheets were blood red, and took a deep breath. 267

“My life is so screwed up,” she mumbled. She raised her arm, but quickly lowered it from pain. “This is gonna hurt for a while,” she said looking at the bruises up and down her arms. 268

Fang’s red eyes had there target locked and led Fang left and right. A smile drew upon his face as he got closer and closer. 269

“He is not going to hurt her,” said Fang, turning left. 270

The corridors were getting longer and longer. 271

“Almost there,” smiled Fang, his pupils shrinking. 272

“What should we do?” asked Salem. 273

“I say we split up,” said Stella, chiming in. 274

“That’s a good idea, you all look for Liana, and I’ll stop Fang,” said Adrian, running off. 275

“Wait what?” asked Jinxi. 276

“Follow me, we’ll check your room then ours,” said Salem, running off. 277

Stella and Jinxi nodded then followed. 278

“This way first,” called Salem. 279

“Ok,” shouted Stella and Jinxi back. 280

Liana got up and started to look at pictures that lined the shelves. Liana smiled as she passed a picture of what looked like Fang, Adrian, and Salem when they were ten. She smiled as she held on to the picture and kept looking around. She saw another picture but it was of Fang standing with a blurry image of someone in the background. 281

“What the…” Liana mumbled inaudible, moving closer to look at the picture. She tried harder to examine the figure. “What could he be standing with?” Liana asked herself. She walked back over to the bed and looked back at the picture of the three guys from when they were younger. “Wow, they were all so cute!” said Liana, lying back. She held up the picture. It was Fang in the middle, probably cause he was the tallest, and he was leaning on Adrian, while Salem attempted to ruffle his hair. They were all smiling, and seemed to be having a grand old time. Liana laughed slightly as she saw Adrian trying to fight back against the other two. 282

“Ok, well she’s not in your room, so let’s check my room,” said Salem, closing the door, and starting to head towards his room. 283

“You think she’ll be ok?” asked Jinxi. 284

“Yes, and where did Fang go?” asked Stella. 285

“I really don’t know,” said Adrian, his ears down. 286

The two girls looked at each other then at the floor as they continued walking. “Let’s hurry,” said Jinxi, speeding up her pace. 287

Salem and Stella nodded in agreement, as they reached the door. 288

Liana placed the picture back on the dusty shelf and walked back over to the bed, as she did, the door quickly flung open. Liana looked at the door and saw, Salem, Stella, and Jinxi. Salem smiled, and the other two ran over to Liana, opened armed. Liana smiled as the both flung their arms around her. 289

“You ok?” they both asked. 290

“Yeah,” said Liana, smiling. 291

“What happened?” asked Stella. 292

“I don’t wanna talk about it,” said Liana, looking at her bruises. “But all I know is someone saved me and brought me back here…” Liana trailed off. “Was it Adrian or Fang?” Liana asked, looking at Salem. 293

He looked at her and shook his head. 294

“Then who do you think it was?” asked Jinxi, also looking at Salem. 295

Salem shrugged his shoulders, his facial expression contradicting what he was letting out. 296

“Well your alright and that’s all that matters,” smiled Stella. 297

The two girls let go of Liana. 298

“Maybe we should go back to your room,” said Salem his voice hesitant. He started to walk out. The girls looked at each other and followed. 299

“How do you think Adrian’s doing?” asked Stella. 300

“Hopefully well,” replied Salem. 301

“Wait what happened?” asked Liana. 302

“Fang went off in search of someone or something, and he is basically almost a full vampire,” said Stella. 303

Liana looked at her, her face turning pale. 304

“Is that bad?” she asked. 305

“It can be,” replied Stella. 306

Adrian listened as the others talked, his head down. 307

I hope he found Fang before Fang gets his ass kicked, thought Adrian, stopping at the girl’s door.308

“Let’s go in,” he suggested, opening the door. 309

Fang slowed his pace and came to a halt. He stood in front of a crimson red door. “You’re not taking another thing,” said Fang. He stood there almost debating weather to walk in or not. His red eyes shrank, and he grabbed at his chest. This beating in his chest hurt. He opened his mouth and his two canine teeth began to morph. Adrian turned the corner to see Fang. He watched as his teeth grew longer and thicker. Fang smiled evilly, and looked up at the door again. He pushed the door open and slowly walking into the black abyss. 310

“Fang!” shouted Adrian, running towards the door. As Adrian reached the door, it slammed shut, leaving Fang alone. “Fang!” shouted Adrian again, beating the door with his fists. “Fang,” he mumbled, jostling the doorknob and looking up at the door. Please be careful! thought Adrian, trying one last time to get into the room. 311

Fang walked in, a smile still on his face. His eyes were wide open, but the pupils of his eyes were small and surrounded by red. 312

“You came” asked a voice calmly. 313

“Where is she!” shouted Fang. 314

“Who?” asked the voice slowly. 315

“You know damn well who, what did you do to her,” Fang yelled. 316

“I did nothing to her,” smirked the voice. 317

“Nothing like I’m gonna do to you,” it laughed. 318

Fang looked around, and felt something behind him. 319

“This will teach you,” said the voice. 320

“What!” Fang called out desperately. “Ah!” Fang shouted. 321

“Fang!” yelled Adrian, banging on the door again. “Stop, no!” Adrian heard. “Fang!” shouted Adrian again. He fell to his knees as he listened to the shouting, then all went silent. 322

“You dare to enter my presence as a vampire, especially as the pitiful monster you are?” asked the voice. 323

Fang looked up at the dark figure, breathing heavily, as blood streamed from his mouth. 324

Liana, Salem, Stella, and Jinxi all sat in the room waiting for some light on what was happening. 325

“Please be ok,” mumbled Liana, remembering the picture. 326

The day was coming to an end. The sunset made the sky a beautiful array of colors. 327

If only life could be as beautiful as the sky, thought Liana, sighing. 328

“Why do you have so many bruises?” asked Stella. 329

“Oh, well…” started Liana, looking down. 330

“Don’t worry,” said Salem, “I’ll take care of her,” he said, smiling at Liana. 331

Liana quickly looked at him, and kindly smiled back. 332

Adrian waited resting against the wall, opposite the door. It slowly creaked open and Fang’s head hung out the door. Unconscious, his eyes small, and blood dripping everywhere. Adrian quickly got up and rushed over to Fang, he picked him up and flung his body over his shoulder. As Fang’s body was pulled out, the door shut. 333

“Your horrible,” mumbled Adrian, under his breath. 334

He rushed to bring Fang’s body back to the girls’ room, thinking the others would most likely be there. Fang’s head hung over his shoulder, blood from his mouth dripping onto his shoulder. 335

“Oh, this is so bad!” said Adrian, hurrying his pace. 336

Cuts covered Fang’s body and blood drenched spots on his pants. 337

“I hope you’re not still vampire,” said Adrian. He turned his head and tried to look at Fang’s teeth. He saw the were still long and thick. 338

“Oh, gosh,” said Adrian.339
