“That’s stupid! Mr. Crawford, I respect the fact that you don’t agree with my opinion but cutting down small trees instead of big trees will make no change to the amount of pollution!” Clear screamed at her teacher angrily. “Clear Water! Whether you agree or not, write it down in your book. Now!” Mr. Crawford boomed back.1
Clear growled and lowered her head. “Stupid teacher.” She grunted.2
She began to write in her book, Mr. Crawford carefully watching.3
The bell rang and everyone ran out of the classroom cheering. Clear made her way to the lunch room, life was boring. Boring and dull. 4
“I- Am- So- Bored.” Imogen rested her face on her desk and stuck out her bottom lip. “Today. Is a very, very sad day.”5
“Oh God, shut up.” Stacey kicked Imogen hard in the shin.6
“Ouch!” Imogen jumped, and growled at Stacey. “You’re such a Barbie.” Imogen put on a funny voice, “ooh, look at me. I’m Stacey D!” 7
“Well. At least I’m not, like you.” Stacey stuck her tongue out.8
“Yeah, cool come back Stace.” Imogen said sarcastically. Then she muttered, “Thank God you’re not like me.” 9
“I want a lolly.” Candy smiled at her mother, who immediately placed one on the counter. 10
“You give in easily!” Laughed the girl behind the till.11
“Erm, sorry, what was that?” Candy’s mother replied.12
“Mummy, I wanted a blue one.”13
“No,” Her mother sternly said.14
“Yes.” Candy scowled at her mother. 15
Candy’s mother swapped the lolly. 16
Shadow stared at the floor, as she made her way to the cafeteria. Shadow nervously glanced around the hallways. Kids and teachers rushed around, Shadow seemed to be in slow motion. Like, for her, time was calm and still. Shadow kept herself in her own world. Reality was too much to handle. All of a sudden she bumped into something. When Shadow looked down she saw a tanned girl with dark brown hair staring up at her. She looked around the age of twelve, or thirteen.17
“Hey, I haven’t seen you around here.” The girl smiled. “I’m Imogen, by the way.”18
“You probably haven’t seen me around here because I’m not around your world that often. My name is Shadow.” Shadow replied.19
“Er… okay. Cool. You going to the cafeteria?” 20
Shadow nodded. 21
“Can I walk with you?” Imogen smiled hopefully. 22
Shadow nodded, then began to walk slowly.23
“I’m just going to come right out and ask you this, but are you like… dead?” Imogen leaned upto Shadow. 24
Shadow had black hair, and very pale skin. Her eye’s were black, and deep. But only her victims would know, as she always stared at the floor.25
“No, I’m not dead.” Shadow rolled her eyes and continued walking. 26
All of a sudden a blue haired girl came stomping down the corridor, as angry as anything. She ran up to Imogen and pointed at her.27
“Pollution, what is your view? Because my stupid teacher says that fewer tree’s equals fewer pollution, and that’s WRONG!” She fumed.28
“Er… I’m walking to the cafeteria with my new friend. You’re kind of blocking the way.” Imogen shrugged her shoulders, and tried to squeeze past her.29
“Oh, sorry! Hey, aren’t you Imogen?” 30
“Yeah. This is Shadow.” Imogen pointed at Shadow, who was hiding behind her long dark hair.31
“Cool. I’m Clear!” The girl shouted back.32
“Hehe… Clear! Am I the only one with an ordinary name around here?!” Imogen pulled a face. 33
“So, you guys going to the Café-”34
“Teria.” Shadow and Imogen finished off. “Yep, we are.” Shadow continued. 35
“Ok, mind If come with?” Clear asked.36
“Nope, feel free to join us.”37
