Episode 1 - Pilot1

Cian has a gang of friends who somehow see past his frequent lies; Darren an insecure teen who follows his parents beliefs; Kathy the bitch and self-obsessed ‘leader’ of the group; Marie a girl who uses and sells drugs; Liam who is a bit too over the top about girls and Sean who just fades into the background. But then we have the outsiders; Karl a shy teen who has friendship and family troubles; Patrick who is obsessed with popularity and can’t balance out his life and finally Jenny a girl shunned by her old friends.2

Scene 14

(The song “I’m Good, I’m Gone’ by Lykke Li plays in the background. The scene begins outside a busy school. Students and teachers are walking towards the dull looking building. Some are in groups while others are walking alone. We focus on a teenage boy with a slightly chubby face covered in spots. He has short dark brown hair and wears a greenish coat. This is Cian and he appears to be looking around for something.)5

Cian (To himself quietly): Come on come on…6

(His face suddenly lights up and he stares on intensely. He is staring at two other teenage boys who are walking up to the school in laughter. A smile appears across his face before he runs off away from the school. One of the boys rolls his eyes at Cian. They continue into the school. Meanwhile Cian stops outside a small alleyway nearby the school; he catches his breath before walking a bit further. He seems unsatisfied to see only one girl handing something to a gang of younger girls. This girl is Marie.)7

Marie (Hands something secretly): That’ll be tenner…right now please8

(The younger girl stuffs the item into her skirt pocket and folds her arm.)9

Girl (Annoyed): A tenner, don’t joke around Marie, it was only eight last time10

(Marie looks up to see Cian and rolls her eyes at the girl’s cheek.)11

Marie: Listen first year…I’m giving you something which I don’t think you’ll get down in the newsagent so…hand over the cash12

(Marie tilts her head and holds her hand out in wait. The other girls nudge there friend nervously which prompts her to hand over the money.)13

Girl (Frowns): I’ll be finding another dealer next time…14

(She and her friends run off.)15

Marie (Shouts): Good luck with that…tiny bitch (Sees Cian) hey, you’re in early16

Cian (Nods): Yeah whatever…where is everyone got something fucking hilarious to say… (Looks around) are they skipping?17

(Marie is looking around in a daze not listening to Cian.)18

Marie (Obviously stoned): God what a morning…I’ve had two complaints about the price, just unfair really…I’m trying to get some money19

Cian (Laughs): You could try stacking shelves…20

Marie (Chuckles): Yeah that’ll be thrilling (Holds up small bag) want some, will get you through the day21

Cian: Nah…I wanna find the group before I forget…can I at least tell you?22

(Marie slowly walks passed Cian after shrugging her shoulders. He follows her in desperation. Across the way, a group of both boys and a girl are standing in a circle. The only girl present has long black hair and big brown eyes. She has a habit of waving her hands during conversations. This is Kathy and she is talking to a boy named Liam. He is average height and has short black hair.)23

Kathy (Smiles): So I said to daddy…why don’t you get me the most expensive hair dryer so that way it will never break. Of course, he said yes but mother didn’t care…she was too drunk24

Liam (Shakes head): Lucky you I… (Gulps) Kathy I don’t care about hair dryers…right guys?25

(He looks at the other teenagers around him. One is of a smaller size and has light brown hair. This is Darren and he gives Liam a slight nod. The other boy looks extremely bored and seems to be in another world. He has generally dull looking facial features. This is Sean.)26

Kathy (Bitchily): Oh god…where is Marie? (Looks around) She’d better not be selling those bloody drugs again27

Sean (Dull tone): Drugs…got any new ones?28

Kathy (Rolls eyes): Sean if you had any more you’d become a weed factory yourself…look there she is now29

(She points to Marie and Cian who are walking towards them.)30

Kathy (To Liam): Her hair just isn’t nice short…I much preferred it when it was longer. One more snip and she’d look like your average man31

(The group ignore her harsh comment and smile at the arrival of their two friends.)32

Marie (Smiles): Hey guys…another tenner in the bag33

Kathy (Sighs): Oh…well how are you babe?34

Marie (Sniggers): I’m great…actually I was thinking…35

Kathy: Well I was just saying to the others about my dear old mother…she’s been at the whiskey again which I thought was a pretty strange choice of drink… (Looks around confidently) I prefer vodka…straight vodka36

(Marie gives her friend a small smile before walking up to Sean and handing him something.)37

Cian (Helps): Hey!38

Liam: Hey Cian, what’s going on?39

Cian (Excited): A lot Liam, a lot is going on40

(The group look at him with a mix of interested and hesitant faces.)41

Kathy (Puts hand on Cians shoulder): Is it another story? I could so use one of them…did you hear about my morning?42

(An overly excited Cian ignores Kathy’s question and looks at the rest of the group.)43

Cian (Grins): Well…I saw them…you know…those two…doing a lot more then they should have been…you get what I’m saying?44

Darren (Sceptical): Who are you talking about…not…45

Cian (Interrupts): Karl and Patrick…they were (Long pause) holding hands in the car park46

(Kathy immediately bursts into laughter while others in the group let out a giggle. Darren on the other hands steps back in discomfort.)47

Sean (Stoned): Seriously man…really?48

Cian: Yep, I mean they could be a bit more…secretive49

Liam (Shakes head): That’s just wrong…fucking freaks…two guys, disgusting right?50

(Cian looks at Liam in curiosity before clapping his hands.)51

Cian: Good one?52

Kathy (Smiles): Just brilliant Cian, congrats on making my day…I did see two girls doing it the other day…I mean just my luck. Not that I’m saying that’s wrong…right Marie?53

(She laughs as Marie looks slightly puzzled.)54

Kathy: Joke for god’s sake…we’d better get to class…you’ll sit with me Marie?55

(Marie nods at her best friend before looking back at Sean.)56

Marie: Give us a fiver at break, yeah?57

(He nods in a daze. With that everyone starts to walk off towards the school while the distracted Darren remains. Cian notices this and walks back.)58

Cian: Hey look I was just telling them what I saw…no lies59

Darren (Shakes head): Don’t be stupid Cian, I know Karl wouldn’t be doing that…he’s my friend60

Cian (Jokingly): You saying it’s wrong to be gay then Darr?61

Darren (Flustered): No…I don’t think that but my parents…no he just isn’t okay?62

Cian: Right…whatever you say Darr, anyway you coming or what?63

Darren (Snaps): I’m not in your class now…I’m in Karl’s for this one64

(Cian walks off shaking his head as Darren slowly follows. End of scene)65

Scene 266

(The next scene opens in a classroom within the school. It is half-full with students. On one table we see the two boys who Cian had been lying about earlier. On the inside of this table is Karl, who is laughing at something that his friend Patrick has just said. The song ‘Right as Rain’ by Adele plays in the background.)67

Patrick: You do fancy her though…we’re not stupid68

Karl: Yeah okay…whatever you say, it’s probably because you’re not over Kathy…which is strange since she’s never really spoken to you69

Patrick (Shakes head): No that’s crap…she told me about her mother last week, do you know she’s a wino?70

Karl (Smiles): I think everyone knows that…71

(He looks towards Kathy at the other side of the room. She is talking about her mother again)72

Patrick (Rolls eyes): Shut it Karl…at least I don’t fancy the freak Jenny73

(Karl looks over to see Kathy wandering towards their table. He suddenly becomes quite shy. On the other hand Patrick get a bit flustered.)74

Kathy (Smiles): Hey you two…I didn’t know you’d decided to go open about everything…well done75

(She walks off with a grin on her face.)76

Patrick (Horrified): What…what does that mean?77

Karl (Less shy): Who knows…probably Cians lies again. Why didn’t you ask?78

Patrick: I didn’t see you try…because you melted in your chair, you know your gonna have to go to college…you’ll have to talk to actual people besides your friends79

(Karl looks down in discomfort. A female teacher suddenly storms into the room. Everyone looks up in amusement. The teacher has greasy looking black hair and wears an elderly looking blue coat. Her first name is Debbie.)80

Debbie: Right childr…class please sit down in your places81

(The class slowly take their seats. Debbie gets out a book from her bag and frantically flicks through the pages.)82

Student: What are we doing today then Ms?83

Debbie (Sighs): We are going to be starting a new story about a broken family…do you understand?84

(The student nods while trying not to laugh.)85

Patrick (Whispers to Karl): What does she think we’re slow or something?86

Student (Sniggers): A broken family Ms…what happened?87

Debbie (Overly passionate): Well the husband went off and had an affair with a younger woman and left the poor old wife to raise a newly born child with her OCD and depression still at a good old high (Gulps) it should be interesting for you all88

(The class all start to smirk. Debbie suddenly puts her hand on her head and mutters something.)89

Debbie: What was that thing…there was something going on today… (Relieved) oh yes we will be welcoming a new classmate. Who can’t handle the pressure of a harder class and you know what that happens in life but you must do something about it90

(As Debbie looks through the book the students start talking amongst themselves.)91

Kathy (To Marie): I really hope its Cian because it can be pretty boring here…92

Marie (Under her breath): Thanks…93

(At the other end of the classroom.)94

Karl (Sighs): Any idea who its gonna be?95

Patrick: No…I don’t think so…nah…not sure really96

Karl: Okay then…I hope its not Darren that’s all I need…to have to choose who to sit with97

(Patrick strangely looks guilty at this statement. He looks over and sees Kathy sniggering at him.)98

Patrick: That fucking Cian…now Kathy seems to think I’m ever weirder, thanks a fucking bunch99

Karl: I might be shy but at least I don’t care what Kathy thinks…come on she’s the biggest bitch of the school100

Patrick: Yeah well she’s…101

(The door suddenly opens and a teenage boy appears. Patrick seems to know him as his face lights up when he sees him. Karl looks shocked.)102

Karl (Angrily): Not sure huh?103

Debbie (Smiles): Welcome…what’s your name?104

Boy: Mark Ms105

Debbie: Welcome Mark…you can sit in front of those two over there…but there isn’t set places here. You may find a friend tomorrow106

(Across the classroom Marie looks a bit confused.)107

Marie: Why’s that Karl got a long face…?108

Kathy (Giggles): Oh my god…did you not hear? I’ll tell you about my brothers accident later, well from what I heard Patrick and Mark are like great friends…but he seems to prefer him to Karl…cos last year he ignored him all year…juicy or what?109

Marie (Sniffs): Yeah I guess…110

(Marie starts to scribble on her book) 111

Kathy: Don’t you wanna hear about Andy?112

Marie (Sighs): Sure…tell me about your darling brother113

(Debbie suddenly slams her book on the desk in front of her.)114

Debbie (Trying to be angry): How dare the lot of you make a fool out of me, I won’t be having this alright students?115

Student: But you said…116

Debbie (Shouts): Oh get over it would you…just start doing questions on page 359117

Kathy (Sighs): Actually Ms this book only has 300 pages…118

Debbie (Puts hands over her head): Fine just find some questions…just do some questions119

(Everyone continues to talk instead of following these orders. Now Patrick and Karl are sitting in an awkward silence. The bell rings for the end of class.)120

Debbie (Shocked): Oh my god…I got nothing done…we’ll do double tomorrow121

Kathy (Tilts head): Right Ms…122

(Karl gets out of his seat and walks to the door.)123

Patrick: Hey Karl…124

Karl: I’m gonna go talk to Darren…see ya125

(As Karl walks out of the classroom Patrick packs his schoolbag. End of scene)126

Scene 3127

(The next scene starts with Karl roaming around outside the school presumably looking for his friend Darren. He sees Darren with his other group of friends and sighs. After pondering for a minute he turns around and walks back into the school. Back with the group Kathy is telling everyone about her brother Andy.)128

Kathy (Sighs): I’m really just a baby-sitter but I just love him so much. When he gets drunk I take him home, put him on the bed or the sofa…make sure all the hangover food is in, you know sister stuff129

Sean: We know Kathy…Andy used to come to this school…actually he only left last year130

Kathy (Snaps): Yeah okay Sean…go get some drugs or something. God!131

Cian (Pulls a face): Here comes mum number one132

(The gang turn around and see a taller girl with long strawberry blond hair and glasses walking towards them. This is Jenny)133

Kathy: Don’t be rude Cian…just because she had an abortion…only joking, she’s just a freak134

Marie: Well she was our friend before the…135

Kathy: Ssh Marie…don’t let her talk to us136

(Jenny stops and looks at the group with a small smile across her face.)137

Jenny: Hey guys…how are you?138

Darren: Am…we’re… (Kathy gives him a piercing look) you know139

Kathy (Smiles): We have to go back to class…I’m sure at your school you can come and go when you please, right?140

(Jenny looks down at the ground.)141

Kathy: Come on guys, bye…142

(The gang slowly walk off led obviously by Kathy. Darren strangely turns back and waves. Jenny waves back happily but all she receives is a frown from Darren. She turns around to see Karl behind her.)143

Karl (Gulps): Hey…144

(He turns around presuming Jenny won’t want to talk to him.)145

Jenny (Sighs): Is what I did really that bad?146

(Karl looks surprised and quite nervous. He turns around slowly.)147

Karl (Confused): Why…are you amm…asking me?148

Jenny (Shrugs shoulders): I dunno…you’re friends with Darren…maybe he said something149

Karl: I don’t really know your group or old group…why are you here?150

Jenny: Oh I skipped…thought maybe I could worm my way back in…obviously not huh151

(Karl smiles nervously.)152

Jenny: You could be in the group…with Darren and everything…153

Karl: Yeah well…I gotta go alright154

(He turns around leaving Jenny looking around in thought. She taps her glasses and turns to leave the school. Back inside the school Patrick is talking to his other friend Mark and another group of students.)155

Female student: What’s he doing here…like it’s a bit weird156

Mark: He’s gonna rip the posters off the walls…it’ll be hilarious157

Student: Serious? Rebel or what…go on then158

Patrick: Well I…159

(He looks along the wall and coughs.)160

Female student: Right I’m going…this is well boring161

(With this comment Patrick looks around to see if any teachers are around. He then charges down the hall tearing off all the posters in the process. Mark and his other friends start laughing. Patrick returns with a proud grin on his face. Karl appears but straight after the principal turns the corner and sees the carnage over the floor.)162

Principal (Angrily): What is this? Who did this…what animal decided this would be funny?163

(He turns to Mark, Patrick and the group.)164

Principal: Well…I’m waiting…come on own up165

(He looks at Mark.)166

Mark: It wasn’t me Sir…I swear167

(He then looks at Karl.)168

Karl (Puzzled): I…I…what?169

Principal: Was it you? Was it him?170

(Mark nudges Patrick who gulps.)171

Patrick: Yeah it was…172

(Karl looks at Patrick in disbelief but because of his shyness doesn’t say anything else.)173

Principal (Angrily): Come to my office right now174

(Karl follows the principal in dismay. Mark and the group stare at Patrick in confusion.)175

Mark: What the fuck was that?176

Patrick (Tries to be funny): Well you nudged…better him than us, right?177

Female student: He totally nudged you to say you did it…what a loser178

Student: Retard179

(The other members of the group walk off while Mark shakes his head.)180

Mark: Hardcore hey…181

(They walk off as Patrick looks back with a guilty look on his face. End of scene.)182

Scene 4183

(The next scene opens in a busy looking teenage disco. The song “Disturbia” by Rhianna plays in the background. Many teenagers are dancing and drinking. Kathy and Marie are dancing with each other.)184

Kathy (Loudly): This is so fun…watch my moves185

Marie: Yeah…have you seen a guy with a black hat… (Waves hands) Kathy?186

Kathy: Whatever girl…you know I don’t deal with your drugs and stuff187

(As Kathy continues to dance Marie rushes off in search of this man. Cian is standing in the corner of the disco talking to a stoned Sean.)188

Sean (Blinks): You know I told Harry that he needed to be the drummer the world wants him to be…that’s cool…that’s a cool thing to say isn’t it Cian?189

Cian (Looks around in thought): I heard Harry slept with his first cousin190

Sean (Rubs eyes): Huh…what you say?191

(Kathy suddenly jumps at Cian with a grin on her face. They both laugh as Sean kneels down on the floor.)192

Kathy (Rolls eyes): You gonna come dance…Marie is in a mood or doing drugs…one or the other193

Cian (Laughs): Nah…not a dancer, you know that. (Looks at other teenagers) just look at them…its ridiculous 194

Kathy (Grabs Cians drink): Beer…I’ll have some thanks195

(She sips some of the bottle and gives it back to him.)196

Cian: Hey about Jenny…you know the abortion story197

(An annoyed Kathy looks at Sean and then nudges Cian in horror.)198

Kathy: Watch what you’re saying Cian…199

Cian (Smirks): Come on Kath…he’s out of it…and anyway I was just gonna ask how you think its going…alright200

Kathy (Smiles): I don’t like her Cian…I don’t want her to be here so we lied…me and you lied, so of course its going brilliantly. Now come and dance with me…if you want to continue are little deal201

(She looks him up and down before running back onto the dance floor. Cian grins and runs after her leaving Sean kneeling on the floor.)202

Sean (Dazed): Story…what?203

(He shakes his head and suddenly looks pale.)204

Sean (Desperate): Water, water… (Grabs someone’s water) thanks205

(He gulps the whole bottle down and throws it on the floor. Marie appears and looks at him in dismay.)206

Marie (Waves hands): Black hat man…you seen him?207

Sean: I don’t have a black hat do I?208

(He puts his hands on the top of his head in confusion.)209

Marie: He said he’d be here…I’m telling you this is an annoying business…you know drug dealing 210

Sean (Nods): I know I hate business studies too211

Marie (Smiles): Okay I’ll stop talking…get some water or something212

(She dashes off and Sean smiles to himself. In another part of the area Darren and Liam are standing together looking around.)213

Liam (Whistles): She’s hot isn’t she Darren?214

Darren: Who…who are we looking at?215

(Liam points to a girl talking to her boyfriend.)216

Darren: She’s okay…so did you believe Cian before?217

Liam: Yeah, yeah…I want her so badly too bad that big tall guy is with her218

Darren (Exhales): I just wish he’d back off (Drinks his drink) you know what I mean?219

Liam (Inhales): Maybe I should try it on with her… I mean she looks…220

Darren: Isn’t that her boyfriend? That would be quite stupid Liam…221

Liam: I think he looks a bit…gay222

Darren (Confused): What…why…okay…223

Liam: I’m just saying he doesn’t look interested at all224

(Darren rolls his eyes at obviously not being taken seriously by Liam.)225

Darren: I’m trying to ask you…226

Liam (Nods): He’s gay, its obvious227

(Liam walks off leaving Darren even more offended. Marie appears once again looking more desperate.)228

Marie (Exhales): Black hatted man? You seen him Darr?229

Darren: Yeah there was a guy in the toilet with a black hat…looks funny actually230

(Marie is about to leave when she notices Darren’s frown.)231

Marie (Gasps): Alright it can wait one more minute…you alright Darr?232

Darren (Concerned): Cian was lying this morning…I know it233

Marie: Oh…just ignore it then, if you think Karl wasn’t holding hands…then maybe he wasn’t234

Darren (Snaps): He wasn’t maybe Patrick would do something like that but not Karl…he’s my friend and I know it235

Marie (Holds up hands): Okay calm down…I believe you236

(Darren smiles at Marie who then quickly runs off. He looks a little more relaxed now. End of scene.)237

Scene 5238

(The next scene starts with Karl walking down a street with a bag of shopping in his hands. His car is just ahead of him but before he goes to it he notices Jenny standing at the entrance of the disco. He sighs before walking up to her.)239

Karl: Hey Jenny… (Waves) hi240

Jenny: Karl hey…I was just gonna go in…waiting for…241

(Karl looks around awkwardly as does Jenny.)242

Jenny: Aren’t you going to the disco…?243

Karl (Laughs uncomfortable): I’m not a big party person…not that I sit at home reading or anything… (Rolls eyes) is that smoke…are you smoking?244

Jenny (Put back): Oh….not a fan then245

(She throws the cigarette on the ground and steps on it.)246

Karl: Shit sorry…never mind…go on in then247

(Jenny shivers before turning around to face Karl completely.)248

Jenny: I don’t wanna go in…not really. I do but all the group are in there…you never know what they’ll say249

Karl: Yeah kind of why I’m not into the parties these days…I don’t think Darren’s friends are…too fond of me250

(There is an awkward pause before Jenny notices Karl’s shopping bag.)251

Jenny (Sniggers): Midnight snacks or for your personal party?252

Karl (Laughs): No…just getting a few things…my cars just there253

(He looks in the direction of his car.)254

Jenny (Curious): Hey is that your brother…I haven’t seen him for ages255

Karl (Discomfort): Oh well…I…256

Jenny (Shrugs shoulder): Oh well I’ll go in…but first could I ask you something?257

Karl: I guess…258

Jenny: Could you maybe help me…your friends with Darren…you know what I’m saying? You could help me make them…not hate me259

(Karl stares at her for a minute and breathes in.)260

Karl: Sure…maybe I can try261

Jenny (Smiles): Cool…262

(The song “Back to the Start” by Lily Allen plays in the background. Before Jenny can finish her sentence Kathy and some of the gang stumble out of the busy disco.)263

Kathy (In a drunken state): Oh look…is Karl gonna be your next conquest? Didn’t think you were ready for kids Karl…264

Cian (Laughs): Yeah well we all know he’s involved with someone else…265

Darren (Irritated): Shut up Cian…Hi Karl are you coming…266

Sean (Stoned): Karl and Patrick…now I remember…holding hands267

(He starts laughing leaving Karl looking pretty pissed off.)268

Cian (Smirks): Something wrong Karl, trouble in paradise?269

Karl (Snaps): You’re such a fucking liar…270

Kathy (Laughs): Oh yeah…just became you came out doesn’t mean you can judge…go on run off to your freak of a brother…I can see him staring271

(Karl turns around to see his brother looking out through the car window. He walks off towards the car in embarrassment.)272

Darren (Annoyed): What’d you do that for?273

Jenny (Sighs): Exactly!274

Kathy: Get lost mum number one…we’ve had enough of you for one day275

(Jenny stares at Kathy in disgust.)276

Cian (Shouts): Go on then…loser277

(She slowly starts to walk off but Darren still looks annoyed.)278

Darren: Why the hell…279

Kathy: Come on Darren you’ll forgot about it tomorrow280

(They start to walk off and a gullible Darren follows. Behind the disco Marie is talking to a guy who looks a little older than herself.)281

Marie: So…here’s your stuff (She hands him his drugs) that’ll be a tenner each please282

Guy: You what? A tenner, fuck right off love283

Marie: Love? Look I don’t know what a guy in his twenties is doing here…but you obviously need this stuff so just pay up and don’t come again. Simple284

Guy (Sniggers): You like my hat little girl?285

Marie: Listen I just want…286

Guy: Do you like my hat I said?287

Marie (Rolls eyes): Yeah…it’s cool I guess288

Guy: That’s what I thought when I stole it…289

Marie: Right interesting fact…fine eight each, that better?290

Guy: I stole it off a guy last night…just walking down the road…wonder what happened to him?291

Marie (Shrieks): Okay I need this money so just give me something, anything…and you can have the stuff292

(The guy grabs Marie’s hand.)293

Guy: Maybe I don’t want to pay anything…294

Marie (Terrified): Fine…just leave me…295

Guy (Laughs): Ah I’m only kidding you…here (Gets money) eight for each. Maybe have a think about what you’re doing…296

(He lets go of her arm and walks off. Marie looks a red mark across her wrist. She starts hyperventilate but quickly grabs her mobile phone and holds it to her ear. A tear rolls down her face. She puts the phone back in her pocket.)297

Marie (Shaking): Damn it Kathy…298

(A shaken Marie slowly starts to walk towards to disco. End of scene.)299

Scene 6300

(The next scene starts in the disco. Liam is now the only one from his group inside the disco. He sees that the boyfriend of the girl he was admiring earlier is now standing on his own.)301

Liam (To himself): Right302

(He starts to walk towards the boy obviously wanting to do something. The boy sees him and smiles which prompts him to turn away with nerves. He closes his eyes and when he opens them Marie is standing in front of him looking drained.)303

Liam: Jesus girl…what happened to you? Where’s Kathy?304

(Marie just shakes her head at him. They both walk towards the exit. Now we see Karl sitting in his bedroom at home. He is looking at his mobile phone when he receives a message from Patrick reading ‘call me’. He does exactly this and we hear it ring and ring. Patrick picks up the phone. From here on the screen switches between both of them.)305

Patrick: Hey…306

Karl: Hi307

Patrick: Sorry about before…what happened?308

Karl: Is that it?309

Patrick: Like I already said sorry…it was a moment of madness, it was stupid (Laughs) even Mark said so310

Karl: Great…cos Mark said so311

Patrick: That’s the past…hey how come you didn’t wanna go out tonight? To that disco312

Karl: Go out? When do we ever go out…we never have before?313

(He hangs up on Patrick who isn’t too pleased. Back at with the group Kathy and Cian are in the alley Marie was in earlier that morning. Obviously thinking that no one is around there are kissing heavily before Kathy goes down and unzips Cians trousers.)320

Kathy: Great deal, huh321

Liam (Shouts): Kathy, Darren…guys…you there?322

Kathy (Quietly): Shit…get them up323

(She rushes off to see Liam and Marie standing outside the alley.)324

(Liam looks at a drained Marie who starts to tell the story of what happened. Kathy looks at her friend and gasps. Cian listens in horror before Kathy guys her distraught best friend. The song “What I’m Looking For’ by Brendon Benson plays over the final segment. It then flashes to later that night; Kathy and Cian are walking on a street.)327
