Puckie Duddles lives in the country, and her address is Jacob’s farm. She lives there, with her mother and father. 18
Many different animals live at Jacob’s Farm, and Farmer Jacob19
Takes care of all of them.20
He brings their food each morning and night and makes their homes nice and neat for them. Jacob is a good farmer.21
The sun peeks in to wake Puckie with a stretch, and a yawn.22
“Good morning Puckie”23
Says, Puckie’s mother.24
“Good morning Mother”25
Replies Puckie.26
“Where are you off to?27
Today Dear.”28
Asks Puckie’s mother.29
“Mother, did it rain last night?” asks Puckie anxiously.30
“Yes Dear” 31

“Oh Swell!” exclaims Puckie.33
“Then I am off to find rain puddles” 34
“Not until you have had your breakfast,” Puckie’s mother warns.35
“I know, I know”36

Puckie looks out to see that farmer Jacob is coming with her breakfast, and she knows that soon she will be waddling off38

Puckie had been splashing puddles all morning, and all of a sudden, she hears a rumble.50
“Was that thunder”? She asks herself. And then she hears it again.51
Rumble, Rumble…52
No, that wasn’t thunder.53
That was her tummy.54
Puckie had been playing so hard and now, she was getting very, very, hungry.55
Puckie thought to herself,56
“I should go home for lunch,57
I have played long enough.”58
On her way home, Puckie runs into farmer Jacob.59
Farmer Jacob, having finished his chores, was sitting under a maple tree about to open a book to read.60
Puckie asks farmer Jacob if he would read the story to her.61
Farmer Jacob being the good person that he was, agreed to read the story to Puckie. 62
As farmer, Jacob opens the book he says to Puckie, This book is about,63
Miniature Ponies and he began to read.64
Puckie tried to listen attentively, but she had played so hard splashing puddles all morning, that she was soon fast asleep sitting beside farmer Jacob, beneath the maple tree.65

This is my first children's story and there are 4 more that follow in this series. The spaces in the story is where the illustrations were, but I couldn't copy those here. I hope you like it.
