Gentle be the words of Margaret G,1
Softly put to paper with heart and ink.2
Jots her true feelings for the world to see,3
She sets hearts soaring, and makes the mind think.4
Her words smooth as petals on flowers fair,5
And as honest as a great river flows.6
Thoughtfully written with true loving care,7
With emotion only Margaret knows.8
The respect I feel is hard to express,9
The right words become all blurred in my mind.10
Let me say this, then let this subject rest,11
A finer poet you just will not find.12
Keep the words flowing O Margaret G,13
You surely have had an impact on me...14

She does have that impact on so many people, and it's so good to see she receiving those bautiful words.
Your poem is lovely and shows the kind of warm lady she is.
Loved also how you have used her name in this poem.
I did notice that your iambics don't work the same in every line. Some of them are written in iambics while others in anapest. They didn't interfere with the beautiful content of thi sonnet though
Thanks for bringing your words to us and all the best in everything you do!

I certainly see Margaret in these lines. You have seen her essence and have put it into words. She has some good friends who have posted wonder tributes.
Can you believe her telling you about a typo? I say we write her a mean poem! Teach her when to lay off that work related stuff! lol. -
You have brought the essence of Margaret alive in your beautiful sonnet. A lovely read, and super tribute to her.

Thank you Doc.
This is a lovely sonnet, and I'm very grateful that you have written for this contest. I feel funny pointing out a typo, petals.
It was your great poem about Arthur that inspired my tirade in the persona of Guinivere, and since then I have tried fiction and humour a few times. Be assured that I shall not stop writing.
