Into the Brambles

Sun played with the mouse before biting its neck for the kill. She crept through the leaves and pounced on a vole. She picked both pieces of prey up and dropped them off at the great stump. She padded over to Dew, an elder of her community. "Brambleclan still lives! I see them in my dreams!" Dew said. Everyone knew he was a crazy old cat and nobody but Sun liked to talk to him. "Who are Brambleclan?" Sun asked him wrapping her tail around her feet as she sat. "Brambleclan are our ansectors. The leader, Bramble, is your kin. You belong in the forest young one." Sun shook her head. "But I'm still a kit! They wouldn't take me in." Dew blinked. "Ahh. But they would. You look just like Bramble. They would be bound to notice that." Sun looked at her fur. Dark just like her mothers. "Your mother was one of Brambles kits you know. Your mother would probably join you to go to the great clan." Sun nodded. "Thank you Dew." Sun bounded across the yard into her straight-walkers house. "Mom! Guess what!" Her mother looked up and licked Suns head. "What is it dear?" Her mother, Bounce, asked. "I'm going to the forest to join the clan we belong to." Sun said. Bounce narrowed her eyes. "What nonsence are you speaking Sun? You are a kit still. You can't even eat fresh kill yet. "Speaking of food. I'm hungry." Sun said. Bounce flopped over exposing her belly. Sun curled up next to her and suckled warm milk that came from her mother. Her father Gorge walked up. "I here Sun want to go to a clan in the forest." He whispered to Sun's mother. She nodded. "Well then why don't we all go. i'm getting sick of our straight-walkers." Bounce nodded in agreement and after dark Bounce picked Sun up in her jaws and they left as silently as a mouse. Only one cat saw them leave. Dew was that cat. "Goodbye." He whispered though they were to far away to hear. 1

Sun awoke still being carried. "Mom put me down I have workable legs you know. She was dropped abruptly. "Ow." Sun shook dust from her fur and ran into the thick brush. "Sun come back here!" Gorge called to his daughter. He plunged into the brush after her and scooped her up in his jaws. He ran towards the scent markers of the other cats and crossed over into what was said Brambleclan territory. They found a dip in the ground. "I think we are at the camp." Sun said hppily. She squrimed and got free of her fathers protective jaws. She found a tunnel and ran in. "Sun get back here thats rude to do. We are strangers here!" Bounce called. A large cat emerged from the tunnel with Sun in his jaws. "Is she yours?" He asked Gorge. Suns eyes were wide with terror. "Daddy!" Sun cried running to Gorge. The large tom looked to Bounce and his eyes widened. "I think you should come into the camp." The tom filcked his tail and they followed him through the tunnel into the camp. The large cat ran into a large tunnel and they waited for him to return. Insted a cat that looked very much like Sun's mother stepped out and sniffed Bounce. Tears welled up in his eyes. "It's you." The tom said. "My last kit I left at home before we left." Bounce looked at him puzzled. She sniffed him. "You look just like me. And you smell like me. Father?" Bounce asked him her eyes widening. "Welcome home." The cat said. "I am Bramblestar leader of Brambleclan. I see you have a kit daughter. You must go to the nursery to rest. Your mate shall come with meso I can give him a name." Sun's father gave Sun to Bounce and they went their seperate ways. 2

In the leaders cave Bramblestar asked? "Whats your name son?" Gorge steped up. "My name is Gorge. You daughter is Bounce and the little one is Sun." Bramblestar nodded. "Your clan name shall be Gorgepelt. Bounce will be Bouncekin and your daughter will be Sunkit. Go gather your family and I will announce it to the rest of the clan." Gorgepelt bounded over to where his mates scent led him and told them. They wnet up the their new leader as her annonced. "Cats of Brambleclan, we have 3 new cats in our clan they are my kin and their names are, Gorgepelt, Bouncekin, and Sunkit. Warmly welcome thrm into our clan." A stream of sunlight filtered through the camp and landed on Sunkit. She knew at that moment that this was her true home.
