Somewhere Between the Tree and the Shade

RewindRewindRewind.  I forgot the most important part.  The part where you come in and make it all betterfortheworse.  I'm trying to tell this story, 1

As best I can, 2

But words get forgotten and the flow gets fucked up.  I don't want us to end up just a story, or a myth, or whatever else I can use describe something that was never there. 3

Because we were. 4

And now where am I?  Sitting at a skeleton typewriter and draining cup after cups of coffee.  Where are you?  Hell if I know.  Hell if I know anything.  5

Note to self, no more dictionary time.  Dictionary just brings out the truth that can be otherwised masked by ignorance.  Ignorance is almost the same as innocence. 6

Note to self #2: Look up the definition for ignorance, then innocence, compare the two. 7

Note to self #3:  Stick to commitment one, convince self ignorance and innocence are the same thing.  End of story. 8

But it's not.  That was my little way of avoiding the truth, of jumping around in whichever order I want because it is MY story.  And you know what else, telling stories out of order, bit by bit, piece by peice, makes everything hurts less.  Actually, that seems to be good advice, write this one down, spread the most painful stories out like you'd spread peanut butter and jelly out.  Okay, so that tip wasn't as powerful as I thought but it helps.  9

Myth:10

Pronunciation: 'mith11

Function: noun12

1 a : a usually traditional story of ostensibly historical events that serves to unfold part of the world view of a people or explain a practice, belief, or natural phenomenon 13

Maybe just letting you go wouldn't be too extremely terrible.  I mean, being myths wouldn't be so bad.  Myths to mirrors, that's what we'd be.  Myths to mirrors are only visible when you look into yourself.  We'd be that. 14

You'd be this. 15

I'd be that. 16

Remember? 17

We were this and that... 18

Before it.
19

You know what, scratch that, I don't want to remember that.  Ever noticed how whenever you add dot dot dot to the end of anything you expect lighting to strike and for the DUH DUH DUH music to come?  Okay, maybe its just me, getting off track and not listening to what I want to scream at the top of my lungs. 20

Maybe, instead of telling the actually story, I'll just ramble on... 21

DUH DUH DUH

better for the worse. ain't that the truth. Isn't it wonderful when you have those delightful people that want to make things better for you for thier own selfish reasons, or better yet to watch you fall? gah. very nice line up there. the peanut butter and jelly trick along with the dot dot dot part made this an awsome poem. and the innocent and ignorence part. wonderful job!

innocene and ignorence. They do resemble eachother in a strange way. I loved the part about old love becoming a myth, and the difinition of it was a nice touch. Notes to self are wonderful. The dot dot dot thing was a cool thing to notice as well. I like your poetry! keep writting!

I liked your peanut butter and jelly trick... I actually think you're on to something there.
And I use dot dot dot so often (see, it's even up there) that I hardly even notice... but you're right (there I go again!). You do kind of expect something to happen.
I think this was a great random write... almost like a vent of insanity. It makes me want to go vent some, too.
