Too Young to Know any Better

She looked deep at her, deeper than she had ever looked at her before. That shameless face that her thoughts had never thought to unmask, had never questioned the smile that this girl so confidently carried. 1

“I never asked for this!”, so weak was she now her head struggled to meet the watch of the shadow that stood behind her.2

“I never asked to meet you,… you met me…and now I just don’t know who I am anymore. I’ve…tried…” Her urge to cry pushed down hard on her need to explain, 3

“I mean believe me I’ve tried…but…I wake up each day and your face I see, and I struggle each moment, each breathe to make you leave. I can’t. I CAN’T” Her foot slid closer to the lip of the wall.  The dim echo of a monster soaring up the track was now a breeze, a bitter smoky odor that shot through both their bodies. As she went to take her final breathes it overflowed her lungs, chocking what life she had left. What was once a upon a time just a thought in a moment of hurt had now become the aim of every moment, like the quaint feeling she had had when she met Jennifer. Feelings had grown, like weeds casing her body slowly with their cruel lies.4

Her bystander was merely a shadow in the night, but she knew who it was. Even now as she stood on the edge of death, she thought only of this person, her smile, her ways. The feelings for this girl gushed back now just as they had done before, carrying the confusion that had driven her to this resolution. 5

“I don’t want you to die…I can’t believe I’m seeing this. It’s so…OUT OF FUCKING….I mean its crazy! What are you thinking?”6

“Im thinking of YOU! I’ve always been thinking of you! From the second you just swaned right in with you perfect fucking you. Fucking Loveable You.” However dark that night had become, however cold their bodies,a rope drew between them, the laborious bond which had brought this girl to this bridge.7

Despite the agonizing situation her bemusement was shattered by Tyler’s unquestionable giggle. It was a giggle that seemed to hold a ripple effect over all of it audiences, if Tyler giggled we would all giggle. It was a beautiful thing. She was a beautiful thing. Her face petite and fragile, each contour of her face perfectly sculptured to hold the crease of her dimples, a nose which unified the piece effortlessly and piercing blue eyes that fell behind her rich dark hair. As forthcoming as her personality was the whisper of hair that roofed her eyes always held a sense of mystery that drew all to look at her. Tonight the light seemed to highlight the beauty in Tyler’s face, and as she continued to talk Grace became more and more deafened by the illumination of Tyler’s beauty. 8

“Tyler, why are you laughing?”9

I've been in a similar situation, this is good. Keep on writing, I just found a new addition to my favorites, it's nice to see such deep emotions in a young person and such creativity, I find its lacking these days.

Thank you hunny, really. That was the intention, to end it with laughter to emphasise how friendship can push through most struggles and remains no matter the issue. You got it, and I thank you for commenting.
    very sweet.
    xx
