Beautiful flower (Sonnet)

1

In little corners, she paints us a rainbow 2

By typing down so much have a great day 3

Even to people she doesn’t actually know 4

She brings shiny colors in their shades of grey 5

Well thought-out comments bring laughter and joy 6

But she isn’t afraid to handle a serious matter 7

She has hundreds of poems and sonnets to enjoy 8

And really an impressive collection of the latter 9

Wielding humor and wisdom into words of art 10

She definitely has Fairy God-Mother power 11

Shooting her poems straight into the heart 12

So to many of us, she’s a beautiful flower 13

My first sonnet ever to honor a treasure, 14

MargaretG, it’s written with all of my pleasure 15

Author notes

okay, my first sonnet ever... especially written for a lady I recently learned to know...

hope you all like it

A beautiful tribute to someone who sounds like they are a lovely person! I see that this is your first sonnett??? That's remarkable! I admire you for taking on a form that you've not attempted before. You've definitely done the form, and your friend an honor! You're a gifted poet, my friend! Beautiful work!

I did comment here as under the name Gaze! How can you say I didn't, were you wearing your glasses, or did you forget who Gaze is? Tsk tsk, sad to get old

My dear Leander, once more I wish you all the best in this contest and thanks again for honouring Marg with this lovely poem!

Why hasn't Mari commented? Sure, she's making me do all the work

It's a lovely sentiment to my FGM and I'm sure she appreciates the sentiment. Also you've described her pretty accurately (except where she gets upset when I annoy her, lol)

I have tried to write a sonnet many times, and I don't think they matched yours..very nicely done..especially for it to be your first and done out of honor of a sonneteer...beautiful work.

Since I have never tried my hand at a sonnet, I give you full kudos for this wonderful piece of work. You have done well in describing the Lady Margaret, I know she will enjoy this. Best of luck in the contest.

This is beautiful coming from the heart of a sincere person. It is great that you took a shot at a Sonnet just for Margaret and you did an excellent job. I would never have been able to tell it was your first. Keep up writing the Sonnets.
