The boy walked into the room. He took a deep breath and felt the sharp prick of tears in his throat. He gazed across the room, his eyes settling on a card. It sat, half open on the desk. Recognizing the writing as his own, he walked over to touch it. He picked it up and proceeded to read it. 1
"For a special someone on our anniversary," the front read. It was a pure white card with shining blue letters. They look to be cursive, but he couldn't be for sure. They might have been some kind of calligraphy. 2
He opened the card and read his own writing, which was streaked in places with tears, which were not his.3
"Busy,4
Happy anniversary. I love you more than anything, and I will always feel the same way. Nothing could ever change my feelings for you. I want you to know that whatever happens, I will always be with you. You are the only person who has ever made me feel loved, who has been there through all of the hard times, who has ever cared. You are the only thing in my life that has ever made me feel this way, like I could fly. If I could fly, I would take you in my arms and take you away to Paradise with me. 5
I Love You,6
Adam"7
He found himself crying slightly, until the tears were running like waterfalls down his cheeks. He held the card, and pulled it's mate out of his pocket. He lay down on her bed and sobbed into her pillow, inhaling the intoxicating scent she left behind. When he got a hold of himself enough to read, he looked at the card. 8
"For the Man of My Dreams," it read. The card was the opposite of his. It was a black card with silver lettering. The print was some kind of block lettering, and as the light shone off the letters, it looked like ice. It looked as cold as he felt. 9
"Dearest Adam,10
My knight in shining armor, you have saved me from my darkest nightmare and put me back to a place where the sun warms my soul. I love you more than anything. In the last 3 years, we've laughed and cried, argued and kissed, and experienced things together that no one else knows about. I will forever be your Baby, and I will always love you. Happy anniversary, My Love.11
Forever Yours, 12
Busy"13
Adam unfolded the paper from his pocket. He saw Busy's smiling picture on the front of the card. It was a black and white picture that couldn't do her justice. It was blurry, and it hid her true beauty. The only hint was the sparkling smile on her face, and the laughter in her eyes. He touched the picture gently, as if it might crumble to dust. He remembered the day he took that picture...14
Adam placed the card on the desk next to Busy's card. He kissed the picture of her and read the card front to back. It still turned his stomach to read that card, or ever see it.15
"In Loving Memory of Busy Paige Anderson,16
Born: July 26, 198717
Died: June 23, 200518
Busy was a kind person, who loved, and was loved, by all she met. Busy was taken too soon. Her family, and her boyfriend mourn her loss. Busy would not have wished for anyone to cry for her, but to remember her as a happy, compassionate person. Donations may be made in her honor to the local chapter of SADD, or North Park Baptist Church."19
Adam took the small bottle of pills out of his pocket. He swallowed six of them, then 10, then 20, until everything was blurry and numb. He looked at Busy's wall. There was a picture that her parents had taken of the two of them. Adam and Busy were holding each other tightly, smiling and laughing at the Fall Festival. Her eyes were alight with joy from riding the Zipper with Adam, and Adam couldn't have looked happier. He took the picture down and held it in his hand. 20
He pulled a pen from her drawer. It was so hard to move, and his brain was hurting. He knew he wanted this picture to stay with him forever. He turned the picture over and touched the pen to the back. He tried to write on the back that he wanted to be buried with the picture. It came out barely ledgible, but it was recognizable.21
Adam closed his eyes. The sensation he felt was wonderful. Like flying. Then he saw Busy. She was smiling at him, but tears poured down her face. She looked so amazing that Adam couldn't breathe, but by then, Adam wasn't breathing anymore. Busy opened her mouth and her smile softened to a familiar Cheshire cat grin. She opened her mouth, and spoke in a soft, high voice. 22
"Hey you."23
"Busy, I missed you so much. I thought I'd lost you forever. I was afraid I wasn't going to see yo--"24
Busy put her fingertip to Adam's lips. He fell silent, and looked at her.25
"You found me, and that's all that matters."26

YES YOU'RE BACK!
I'm so happy that you're writing stories again, you know you have me hooked on you writing style. This was heartbreaking, full of emotion and not like a: 'FOOL DON'T DO IT' story which is nice for a suicide story
I'am SO glad that you're back! Love
Savan
