Jack walked up front path ,gravel gently crunching underfoot. The song birds in the trees singing to one another. He breathed deeply. The air was clean, smelling of the lake and pines all around. Very diffrent from his hom in Manhatten. .The old house had not changed long as he could remember, it was an old cabin style lake house built beside a quiet lake high in the Green mountains of Vermont. He had not been here in som time first it had been college now it was work as a history teacher in Burlington. 1
After knocking on the door it opened showing an old man, his grandfather. The first thing he noticed was how old he now looked. Growing up he had always looked much younger then he was and acted it now he just looked tired. 2
"hello Granpapa" 3
"Hello Jack come in come it's to been long" 4
There was music laying from the living room the music was old he could tell and had no idea what it was. 5
"Granpapa what are you listining to?"6
"a golden oldie from the 90's back when this old man was a boy"7
They walked in the kitchen it was big with large windows looking out over the porch and lake. It was a kitchen that was for people who cooked a lot and had the nice used look to it. 8
Sitting at the scared wooden kitchen table they chatted a bit. About his teaching ad how he was doing with out Granma. Then the conversation changed to Jack's love life. 9
"So you meet any one new?"10
"Yes Granpap he name is Maria I met her in school, we have been dateing for a year now but I dont know." 11
The old man looked up in hi eyes were something like hope. 12
"do you love her?"13
"yes but I dont know i'v been thinking of traveling around like you did. But I dont know she might mve on if i'm gone to long my gut tells me to stay but I want to go" 14
At this the glass the old man ws holding dropped to the terricota tile floor and shattered. He looked at his grandson with a mix of horror and relife. Jack ws confused he had never seen his granfather act like this even at the funerial the month before. 15
"did i say some thing" 16
He cut him off.17
"go out on the porch boy i'l met you there" 18
At this the old man walked deeper into the house then after a few mins walked out onto the porch with a very dusty photo album. 19
Sitting next to jackhe opened it. The first picture was of his grandmother some ware in her late teens yearly 20's in a white wedding dress. 20
Jack looked confused at his granfather. 21
"granpapa didt you marry granma when you were both 30?"22
He looked sadly at his and turned the page. Stnading next to her was another man in a tux very clearly not his granpapa. Then he started to speak softly. 23
"Your Uncle Alex is not of my blood your mother is but not him, we asked our freinds to not tell you your mother and uncle know but othr then that very few do or remember it was a long time ago in a diffrent world almost. She married a man named Steven Cosk when she was 19 years old and he was 30."24
Though it was late summer the woods and lake became as quiet as a tomb no birds sang no bugs chirped in the tall grass. 25
The old man closed his eyes and begain to talk. 26
"I met her when i was 15 early one morning in high school, her eyes were closed as she sat on the floor against the lockers she opened then and looked at me with stunning gray green eyes and I feel i love."27

A good old tale about family secrets
Always good fun writing about the skeletons in the closet.
Using a photo albumn to visualise it is a very good idea.
I also liked the short paragraphs as it made it easy to read.
Spelling/grammer needs to be sorted as you well know.
