Knight's Love Letter

My Beloved Knight, 1

I hope tis letter hath reached thee without a problem. Since the last letter I hath sent thee, how doth campaign go. Art ye still fighting against the barbarians? 2

Doth ye remember Lady Tabitha, my oldest and dearest friend? I regret to tell thee that she died in childbirth. Her Lord ist there fighting somewhere wilth thou. Pray, my love.. let him know she sent her final words of love to him.3

Although the weather hath grown colder, thoughts of our secret vows shall keep me warm. I pray for thou safe return to me. 4

I knowth that His Majesty doth truly need all thee Lords and Knights in his service. I only miss thee, my darling. Since my own father hath lost his life to the campaign. The King hath place me under his protection. I hath his word, that upon thy return, we may say our vows in the church. Tis will be his gift to both of us, darling. 5

My thoughts art forever with thee my beloved. I dream of our future together, and it brings me such joy. Perhaps, beloved ye and I shalt share many peaceful moments once tis campaign ist done. I wilth have a garden filled with wildflowers. A place where we can sit and hold hands. If thou wish it, then we wilth attend the banquets held at court. 6

If thee shalt still want me, knowth that I wilth forever wait for ye, my beloved. I look forward to thy correspondence. Until then, I remain yours faithfully.7

  • Beautiful language, the old English. It gives stories just a little more romance.

    Great job

    beginning: 4, language: 4, plot: 4, ending: 4, dialog: 4, characters: 4.

  • How romantic, needy and loving, yet all this compounded and made all the more fantastic by the old english style you have written it in. This is wonderful.

'If thee shalt still want me, knowth that I wilth forever wait for ye, my beloved. I look forward to thy correspondence. Until then, I remain yours faithfully.'

This was my favourite bit, It encapsulated all the emotions of a lovelorn lady in one.

Yes! You are the first person to enter my contest who actually wrote in a Ye Olde English style! Excellent Job! I like how you did it in a letter format, it's really great!

Beautifully written sister. The words of love written in the Olde English has always been one of my favorites.
