Love Through The Shadows (Chapter Ten)

“I’m hungry.”1

Those words gave me a spark of forgotten knowledge. She was a human; she needed food.2

I turned to her, my eyes glaring as usual. But there was no fear of me in her eyes. “I do not have anything for you to eat.”3

She stared at me for a long moment before saying, “Go shopping.”4

As if.5

“I do not shop.”6

Again, she stared at me. This time she said nothing. Her eyes just stayed infused with mine. I could feel a sting going through me, up and down my nerves, over my skin. What was that feeling? Hunger…?7

Constance took a step toward me, stopping at a safe range. “I wonder,” she started, tilting her head to intensify her gaze, “why I don’t feel bothered by being here with you. A stranger.” Pause. “One that smells very good.”8

I narrowed my gaze. The faint taste of her I had was filling my senses. Why so sudden, I did not know. All I knew was that I felt the urge to--9

She closed our distance, leaning her head toward mine. I grabbed her arms in just enough time, placing them behind her back, twisting her around. I back her into the wall, face first, being sure that she didn’t hit it too hard.10

My face buried to her neck, my fangs erect, ready. I put my arms around her body, keeping her hands to the small of her back by our pressed bodies. My strength held her in immobile against the wall. She could not move, even if she wanted to.11

I found this to be the prefect time for my feeding. Her blood would be sweet and filling in my mouth, to my stomach.12
