Hollie searched frantically for her cell phone, throwing piles of clothes and books out of her way. Her mother yelled from the kitchen, but Hollie was too frightened to respond.1
“Where the hell is it?!”2
There were footsteps now. Climbing the stairs. Hollie knew it was only a matter of time before her mother would find her, and lord knows what would happen when she did.3
“Hollie Neusidler! Don’t think I don’t know what you’re upto, and it’s not gonna happen! Oh no, not this time young lady!”4
Hollie winced. She smelt the rank odour of alcohol and cigarettes wafting into her room.5
“why did I leave the door open?!” she whispered desperately. No one could save her now, she’d never make it to Carter’s house. For a split second her world seemed alright as she thought of Carter – her oldest friend. He was always there for her, and he always cared – at least up until now.6
The door banged open wider, and her mother stumbled in.7
“Oh, poor dear Hollie – trying to wander out on her lonely old mother, again!! Well not this time. Oh no! I’ve had enough,” 8
She ripped out the phone line and began to laugh hysterically. Hollie backed into a corner, afraid of what her mother was going to do.9
“Mom I’m seventeen! It’s illegal to keep me here without my own will – they’ll lock you up!” she cried as she clawed desperately in the drawers.10
A wave of relief flooded over her as her shaking fingers came across the moulded cold plastic of her cell. Now all she needed to do was dodge her mother, and she’d be home free. Her mom would never be able to make it down the stairs, given the state she was in. Hollie’s eyes came to rest upon her broken lava lamp, given to her for her fourteenth birthday, she didn’t want to, but if need be she could knock her mother out using that. At least then she wouldn’t be able to harm herself or Hollie.11
Hollie’s quivering fingers fumbled on the keypad and managed to get 911, ‘I’ll not call them yet,’ she thought.12
She grabbed her duffel bag, and threw a tattered old t-shirt to the window, to distract her intemperate mother.13
Hollie ran as fast as she could, dodging the flailing arms of her mother, and ran out the door. 14
Soon she would be at Carter’s, safe once again.15

This was awesome. Great Write. I haven't read one about this kind of situation yet in allpoetry. At least not that I can remember. This story is coming along great. I will try to check and wait until your next chapter comes out. If you can tell me when it's out. Then I can get here faster. I am anxious to see what you write next considering that we are both the same age. I though you wrote it very well. You will become a amazing writer if you keep it up. You have the skills and the talent. If you keep writing you'll only get better. It also helps to read others work. I found that that helps me alot. Anyways this was great. Thanks so much for sharing. I really enjoyed reading this. God Bless You!!
