The room was dark, except for the light of the moon shining through the window. A lone rug covered the cold, wood floor, giving little comfort to those who tread across it. Black and silent, a cat slept in the corner of the room. Smells, most indiscernible, drafted in, but bothered no one, who may have been near. Drunken laughter broke the silence as the source of the laughter made his way home from the pub.1
The fireplace within the room held only cold embers, all as dark as the room. In the room were three doors. One of the doors led to the bedroom where the resident slept peacefully. What was in store for her, she couldn’t even imagine in her darkest dreams. She slept without knowledge.2
Light soon flooded the room as a figure stood in the door, casting a shadow.3
His eyes were red with hunger. Keen ears picked up the steady heartbeat of the person in the next room.4
Stealthily moving from the door to the room he quickly spotted her sleeping form. Bending down he breathed in her scent. Placing his cold lips on her neck he gave her the kiss of death.5

I liked this very much. It's very well written. I liked how the stranger slid in, giving her the kiss of death. I don't know who this sperson could be, but its mystique makes it a better read.
Well done (:
