Ella

 1

“Ella, I know you can hear me. I’m going to ask you some questions and I want you to answer them, alright?” Doctor Lana said to Ella, who was twelve years old and sitting in chair five feet away from Doctor Lana’s desk. 2

Ella didn’t respond. She sat still and calm in her chair, her long black hair obscuring her beautiful creamy porcelain face. Her hands rested neatly on her lap and her dress lay just above her knees. 3

Doctor Lana walked over to her desk and sat down, pulling out a pen and a file full of papers. She then began to jot down Ella’s response and behavior. She wondered curiously and impatiently why this girl refused to cooperate with her, why she refused to stay absolutely quiet and not do anything at all. 4

Ella was mysterious in her own way and looked a bit frightening, especially if someone saw her for the first time. Rarely did she show her face to anyone and brush back her hair from her face. She would just stand or sit there, staring at someone or nothing in particular, and not do a single thing, which made her look scary. Like she was something out of a horror movie or worse. No one ever knew why she was like this. 5

“Ella?” Doctor Lana called out to Ella. 6

Again, Ella did not reply. She stared at the doctor across from her and titled her head to the side, a way for her to communicate with her without speaking. For unknown reasons, she knew what the doctor was going to tell her. She could read her read a little bit. Ella, why don’t you show me your face? It’s pretty… The doctor would ask her something along the lines of that. Ella knew this well for she had the ability to read minds and also possessed other physic powers like visions. 7

“You have such a beautiful face. I would like to see it so can you pull your hair back so I can see you better?” Doctor Lana asked her. 8

Just as Ella expected…. 9

Doctor Lana wrote down more notes. She then stood up and walked over to Ella and stood beside her. “I have all day, you know. I can keep you in here if I wanted to.” 10

Ella blinked once. Twice. She licked at her lips and as soon as Doctor Lana looked away, she was gone in a fraction of a second. Perplexed, the doctor scanned around the room as she walked along the walls of the room, in searching for her patient. 11

“Ella?” She called out. 12

No answer. 13

“Ella? Where are you?” 14

No answer. 15

She walked back over to her desk and looked underneath the desk. No Ella there. Sighing, she turned around and faced the mirror. All she saw was her reflection. But there was a smudge on the mirror. Closely, she looked at the smudge, only to discover with horror that it was Ella who was in the mirror. She gasped and backed away. The girl’s face was contorted and disfigured. 16

She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, wishing away what she saw. This wasn’t possible, this couldn’t happen in reality. After a minute, she opened up her eyes and slowly turned around to face the chair, only to discover horrifyingly that Ella was sitting back in her chair, as if she never left. 17

Fear rose up inside of Doctor Lana. Was she imagining things or was she just going insane like Ella was with her nightmares and alleged visions. She sat back down at her desk and took another deep breath before going back to her work. 18

But she froze with complete terror as she saw Ella lift her head up at stare directly at her, her hair partially out of way of her face, and her eyes blazing with anger. Her eyes were like a fiery crimson red when they were supposed to be light blue, the color of the sky. 19

Doctor Lana began to get a headache which was minor. She held her head in her hands and as her headache grew intense, a scratchy metal and static sound filled through her ears. Quickly, she covered her ears with her hands to bury the sound but it did no good. 20

Ella sat there, looking as if she was concentrating as she stared at the doctor. Her blazing crimson eyes twitched angrily and then they softened up. In the blink of an eye, she was standing up, standing right in front of the doctor, her hands at her sides. 21

Doctor Lana looked up at the girl, panic and fear coursing through her lively veins. How did Ella get over her so fast like that? Doctor Lana couldn’t even answer that question. But yet, she couldn’t even answer her own question of why she was so afraid of this small twelve year old girl. She looked so harmless, so innocent. 22

“Let’s play a game,” Ella finally spoke a loud. 23

“What kind of game?” The doctor asked, shocked that she finally spoke for the first time. 24

“I’ll show you, Doctor Lana.” Ella placed her pale hand on the side of the doctor’s face. In an instant, gruesome and horrifying images flashed through the doctor’s mind and her painful headache returned. 25

The images were so intense and visual, that Doctor Lana blacked out. And when she woke up, she found herself to be trapped in a cube, a cube full of sharp razor wires. At the end of the cube on the other side stood Ella, with a smile on her face. 26

Ella giggled. “We’re going to have so much fun…”

First off, that picture is kind of creepy. But it made good use for the story. This story was creepy in every scene of the word. What I loved most about this was the build up of the horror & fear that was throughout this. Nicely done.

    Keep up the good work...
