I am Ancient and Wise Chapter 3

Vampy’re Beginnings1

The beginning is tired plot device used by other writers to introduce a short story that will have a proper beginning later.  In this case the beginning has not been written only conceptualized.  I will put the concepts in my comments in case anyone is interested.2

Prologue4

The scene is a local pretentious cyber cafe.  Everywhere people sip lattes, and chat with friends.  A few quasi-artists busily type soft porn vampire novels, hoping to become the next Anne Rice or even better Laura Hamilton.  We see an older woman enter the cafe and walk towards a table where an attractive young woman is reading a Harlequin Romance.  She sits down while the other woman clumsily stands trying to keep the surprise and envy hidden from the older woman’s eyes. 5

“I am glad to make your acquaintance Mrs ...”6

“We haven’t been introduced so we aren’t quite acquaintances yet are we. I don’t have time for foolishness nor proper etiquette.”7

“Time is of the essence, take this book and keep it secret.  I will not foolishly tell you to guard it with your life; since knowledge of its possession surely condemns you.  Warning you of danger is perhaps as equally futile.  I can taste your appetite for what I have written.  Beware others will sense what you so foolishly disclose. If you are to survive you must hide such appetites.  There are things in this world that would kill every living thing that surrounds you just to ensure no knowledge about this book escapes. At the moment you are unready to even try and imagine what they would do to you, what they will do to you.  I can not give you further introduction as I have risked everything just meeting you.” (The older woman stands hastily, while the younger woman spills her chamomile tea trying to get up again.)  “What ever you do girl don’t thank me.  I doubt you will live to the see the next sun rise, but I have done all that I could.  I bid you farewell.”8

The young woman opens a book, a diary perhaps and begins reading at random.9

As I mentioned above the actual beginning of the story will be different and the notes for Chapters 1 and 2 are in the comments.  They are not written so I gave the above introduction as a tribute to the great erotic fantasy authors Anne Rice and Laura Hamilton.11

Chapter 313

Moon light spotlights a young girl sitting in a courtyard. Her head is bent low hiding her features.  A soft wind scatters trash along the street.  It is the only other noise we can here besides her gentle sobbing.  Why she is alone at this time of night, why she is so precariously baring her soul to the world we don’t know.   Perhaps a certain man knows the answer but at the moment he is not around to enlighten us as to the pain he caused.  Why else does a woman cry to the moon?  For vengeance you say? -Ridiculous- Perhaps we should watch further and see if answers are forthcoming.14

“I am ancient and wise beyond mortal comprehension.  I make no claims to be more clever than the rest of humanity; I am simply above it.  How can a person of 80 years compare to one who has lived more than 80 eons.  I am not immortal.  All that feeds is mortal. A scientist once classified all life impulses into two categories feeding and breeding.  I prefer my own categories.  Creatures either feed or fuck; often they do both.  Evolution on this planet was influenced more by sexual selection than natural selection.  Imagine a world where the fittest survived.  Where death as you know it didn’t exist, just eat or be eaten.”  *(A pitiful attempt to condense two chapters into a paragraph perhaps better left out.)*15

“Forgive me I might be ancient and wise but a storyteller I am not.  What about that poor stranded girl we left in the moonlight.  We shouldn’t keep her waiting.  Never had I seen innocence more seductive.  Never have I seen her equal. She was, is, and will be the stuff of poems and legends.”16

At the edge of the garden caressed and wrapped in shadows, a man stood watching.  All his senses took in this grieving young girl.  What senses you ask?  Ar all narrators bothered by such contemptible questions. He possesses more senses than you but at the same time perhaps he possesses less.  How do you explain to the blind what is sight. If a bat could speak, how would the bat describe this girl?  All I can say is that he loved her, he wanted her, and he needed her.  What else is important? 17

As something accustomed to perfection, he realized too late she was beyond perfection.  Such beauty, such innocence does not exist.  Hesitating a moment too long, fighting desire and fear of the unknown, he found his fate decided. 18

“Who is there?” the young girl, chocking back sobs, managed to whisper.19

No mortal should have been able to detect his presence but the man was entranced.  Though she might be impossible dream, he would feed all the same.  Walking out of the shadows, his gait was uneven still hesitant.  Part of his primitive mind that had survived immortality fought for control, screamed kill her quickly.  Arrogant in his supremacy he simply held out his hand.20

Turning towards the man, he could see her dress torn, leaving little modesty and even less for imagination.  Blood dripped from her left breast where unknown assailant had ripped. Her face marred by tears though her features were not.  As if the tears were simple costume makeup, her eyes brightly shone.  So too the dress though disheveled,  her body retained dignified grace.21

“Who is there?” once again whispered the young girl with rising fear in her voice. “A true gentleman would find pity for the distressed. A robber would seek only for money.  Since I have none, please leave me alone. I have nothing to give save my virtue.”22

Alarms wildly ringing, though presently ignored. The self same dream he had had for a week.  Each time the pain worse, the ache needed to be filled, was he dreaming or was this girl real?  That some possess divination regarding their deaths the man hungered and would not listen to reason.23

“Hateful is man,” the girl sobbed again. “First my fiancé unfaithful, then nigh raped by his friends, and now I am courted by silent death.”24

Shame burned in the man, yes he planned to devour this beautiful child but he wished she would give herself willingly and be consumed in pleasure.  In a moment of confusion burning shame fighting desire he offered his cloak.25

She noticed the remains of her dress, and quickly snatched the cloak’s protection, huddling in her own silent hell.  “I am sorry to have misused you by words sir, I am grateful for your kindness.  Perhaps there are men who know kindness.”26

His usual seductive lies that were so melodiously sweet seemed rancorous next to her voice.  To his own surprise the truth falteringly broke forth from his lips. “I am sorry dear child.  I am more evil than men. I have come to consume and devour.  I ask that in death you’ll forgive me.  I love you, I want you, I need you.”27

She grasped her fate in an instant. With innocent eyes she asked if her death it would hurt.  “What will become the ultimate fate of my soul?”  Her questions unanswered she paused and without waiting reply she stood up. With imperceptible motion she shifted her stance and dress and cloak slid from her shoulders. 28

He noticed the wound on her breast, a blossom impossibly sweet. “Dear child, I do not know of the fate of your soul, but the pain I will drown out in pleasure.” Then eternity forgetting, of dire consequences, he remembered when feeding was different. Before great Cataclysms, when his kind humanity ruled, they had fucked while feeding. Tearing his clothes, they coupled he fed. Orgasm building while girl he drained dry.29

Then both were exploding in sexual climax the beautiful girl now bone-dry.  Yet now he filled her until she was done feeding, finding himself soon empty and dry. Once again whispering softly she kissed him.  She lifted his cloak and walked by.30

“I am sorry dear child.  I am more evil than men. I have come to consume and devour.  I ask that in death you’ll forgive me.  I love you, I want you, I need you. For the child we’ve conceived, for the child I wanted. I thank you.”31

The man smiled to himself, and forgave her in death.  Neither knew the fate of his soul.32

Epilogue34

The young girl paused in her reading gasping for breath, as if breathing ceased while she read.  She jumped in alarm when a hand on her shoulder, and a mouth near her ear whispered sweetly.35

“I am ancient and wise beyond mortal comprehension.  I am the stuff of poems and legends. Take my hand, come with me.”36

epilogue will disappear with the finished story but I wanted to try and give it some sense of closure with the prologue and epilogue as frames for my third chapter.38

Author notes

Chapter 3 PS this fits into category 1 with unkinky erotica.
PS I can't decide what category this falls into.  Perhaps it should be placed into Erotica or Adult thought I do not feel the story is arousing or necessarily adult.  However, I am a bad judge so I will listen to any ideas.

    second chapter
Prion is absorbed by primitive life here on earth. Vampire hybrids are created that are amortal i.e. not truly alive in our sense of the word, can't procreate but now has instincts of both feeding and fucking, i.e. both natural selection and sexual selection at work. However, feeding is dominant they can regain prion form and hybridize with other species. They meet up with the first of homo sapiens not much more than animals at the time. They rule over this first humanity for countless years creating an advanced cilization. Yes I know that this borrows heavily on other alien created the earth, atlantis, pyramid crap. However, the vampires can not return to their prion form once they enter homo sapiens. They can no longer change hosts as new and more violent creatures became available. Homo sapiens tanted the vampire forever. It also creates much more powerful breeding urges than the vampire had ever experienced. As vampires aren't a species but a collection of unique individuals some are more tainted by others. They prefer sex to feeding. They are the outcast of vampire society. The others rule over humanity using our forebears as cattle. Until evolution hits them with Eve. Those vampires shunned by their own kind began to intermingle with humans more and more. They can't produce offspring but they control their urge for violence. (not all vampires drink blood in the book, ,in fact most don't, most eat humans like we eat hamburgers, very messy and not sexy at all.) During a one such sexual encounter Eve is created. She is a bridge between vampires and homosapiens and introduces mortality to the vampire, and is in turn impregnated. The other vampires kill her lover as well as the rest of the vampires that had become overly tainted. She flees with her child and in the chaos of civil war as vampires eat one another humanity frees itself from the shackles of tyranny and reverts back to barbarism. The surviving vampires vow never to allow sex to be part of feeding. How does Eve then seduce a vampire into having sex, I am not sure why they would do so and didn't think of a good answer. I just wanted to give the contest an interesting take on vampires. That they are not sexy, that killing is definitely unsexy. By the way the children she has are mortal but they have an ache they can't name for their parentage. Some think they will fill that need with blood and violence, like their fathers, some think they will fill it with sex like their mother. This is the explanation for vampires being in almost every culture and mythology. As well as the reason people are so seduced by its image

    Notes for Chapter 1
A universe without sexual selection influencing evolution... No death, but creatures aren't immortal; they only die if they are eaten. They also don't reproduce thus evolution takes place in individuals not in species. Vampires were just the baddest meanest single cell organism that was created. Unfortunately they began eating not only other creatures but everything in their universe. this created problems namely density issues. One vampire realized that their society would collapse in on itself even feeding on itself creating a singularity that would destory their universe. Knowing that a black hole would result they created a prion that would serve as their genetic fingerprint that could somehow survive the black hole. I hate the science part of sci-fi it shold never upstage your story but some people get so upset without scientific versimilitude. That is the first chapter. These are rough notes I wrote in about five minutes so very rough.
