Day in the Life of a Raindrop

Today I managed to put aside my lifelong desire to escape this hellacious cycle and had fun. I took advantage of the fact that I’m currently in a puddle on the ground with about three billion other water drops, and made a new friend. His name is Axelrod McAwesome, and he too shares my desire to leave that which I have known since birth. We shared our philosophy with each other. I just met him, bit I think he’s one atom short of a molecule. He actually believes that were part of something called The Matrix and that we are being used for our energy. That guy is crazy. Later, we went out for some sunlight, and I could swear I saw this hot drop across the room wink at me. I suggested we leave before we evaporate, but when I turned around – egad! He was a rising mass of vapor! So I naturally laid down and waited to meet my maker. Eventually, I could feel myself become lighter and lighter until I began to rise. This is usually the best part in my opinion, because it gives me a chance to scope out a possible escape route, but today, I just took in the sights. 1

Eventually we met back up at the cloud, where we started wondering where we would fall, and guess who condensated right next to me. The girl from the sunlight bar, who introduced herself as Sunny Mistdewcool. I guess Axelrod knew already, because he made a bad excuse and left us alone. I began to speak, but suddenly a gust of wind picked me up and tossed me all the way to the top of the cloud! The sudden drop in temperature started to harden my outside. Eventually the wind carried me to the bottom, where I was simply carried to the top again! Eventually, due to the weight of my now frozen body, I fell from the cloud, and crashed to Earth in a fiery pit of death. As I picked myself up, I looked around and wondered two things: what kind of horrible asphalt hell have I landed on? Would I ever see Axelrod McAwesome and Sunny Mistdewcool again?
