Reseeved..No peeeking!! :(

Of all the myths in our land, none is more disputed than that of the fabled Queen of Amazon, Hippalyte. Things such as her name, where she grew up, what her childhood was, even where the Amazonian Empire was! We don't know for sure. What we do know is that she married a Greek king by the name of Theseus. This is perculiar because Athens and the Amazons were fated enemies. Athena was the patron of the penninsula, while Ares fathered the mountainous nation. Why these two countries settled on marriage was unclear. Here you see an telling of that said marriage in the midst story of war through the eyes of a young girl......
1

I looked out over the field in sea of swords and blood. I could not find my brother. I jumped down from the marble ruins and jumped into the midst of the battle, saber raised. I was fresh and determined. It was easy to cut down the Roman scum. Every now and then I would pull a spear from one dead body and jab it into the back of the Roman soldiers. I had lost count of the men who fell to my blade. All that matter now was findind Aellus.2

"Aellus!" I craned my neck hoping to hear his voice. But all I could hear was the sharp clanging of swords and sheilds. I shuddered to think what would happen if I did not find him soon.3

It was high noon and my people were winning. We had driven the army almost back to its ship. I raise my sword in the air and took a deep breath. I began my battle cry, only to be knocked over. I rolled over trying to recover. A high ranking soldier was intent on killing me. I looked back and around me for an escape. I had dropped my saber and he was advancing with his spear. He raised his arm back aiming to strike.4

"Burburbuuuuurnn!" A horn sounded, but I kept my eyes on my attacker. Many of my people looked towad the noise. They were distacted and now open for any attack. But the Roman army dissipated and retreated towards the boats, as if their objective had been achieved. A few of my father's army came to and killed any soldier that was lagging behind. The general in front of me still held the spear. Then he threw it. Against my will I flinched and shut my eyes, but no pain came. When I opened them, he was gone. I slowly stood and saw him pacing a route up to his ships. 5

As the Romans sailed away I felt a dread pour over me. It all made sense. The sudden retreat, why he hadn't killed me, why Aellus hadn't answered my calls. I sprinted up the ridge back to our camp. My family would need to know, immediately.6

---------------------------------------------------------------7

"And how can you how can you be sure of such a thing! That this boy would be stolen disgracefully than to be honored by fight for your life...which you nearly threw away without my permission!" Aiello pounded his fist onto to wooden table. I narrowed my eyes but just by a bit. My father was many things but he did not often shout of throw childish fits. I breathed deeply a dealt with his rebuking for the time being. All my sisters were in the background waiting for the conversation to move my disobedience to the disappearance of our brother. Aiello went on.8

"Not only that, but you are one of seven possible heirs to your beloved mother's throne. What would we have done had you fallen?" His eyes narrowed at me. I groaned tired of every conversation leading back to this one.9

"For love of the gods! I am one! One of seven! I believe we can afford to lose a few of us."
The rom grew still. Aiello stood with a moving mouth but no sound came through. All six of my sisters were looking at me with pained expressions. "But Aellus is my only brother. We lose him, I will not forgive myself." It had been the little idiot's first battle. Leave it to him to be taken captive. I was supossed to look out for him. I was supossed to watch his back during battle and keep him alive. Now he was as good as dead, because I was the only one who cared. I stood slowly and bowed respectively to my father and to my sisters. I could not trust my self any longer to remain respectful. 10

When I left the dinning hall, I headed out side. The only way for me to calm down was to go out to the mountain side and meditate.
