She was the chieftain's daughter. Princess of the Cherokee tribe. Her long beautiful black hair reached below her waste, and she had eyes of brown. They called her RedFox. A fearless woman in the prime of her youth. It was time for her to get married. But this is where RedFox came to a fork in the road. 2
She had two loves. White Wolf who was a blond haired, blue eyed, young white man who was adopted in to the tribe as a little boy. He was a loving and sweet guy who made her laugh. Then there was Spotted Horse. He was her best friend since birth, he shared her deepest secrets and knew every thing about her and was always there for her when times got tough. So after some thought she sat the two men down for a little powwow.3
"My father has grown impatient for me to marry. He wants me to make a decision within a week." She said in her soft and sweet voice. "If i don't make my choice by then, he will pick a husband for me. But i want someone I love and trust. So give me two days and by then I will have picked my mate."4
This angered White Wolf. What if she picked Spotted Horse? Why didn't She already make her decision? Did his beautiful RedFox not love him enough?5
With all those thoughts running through his head, he came to a conclusion. There was only one way he knew he could have her to himself. That was to kidnap her and take her to a secluded area away from the tribe.6
So while she was in a deep sleep he picked her up and took her to the waterfall by horse back. She stirred slightly but nuzzled him and again fell asleep. He already knew that the little nook behind the fall would be just big enough for the two of them. To make sure she wouldn't get scared and run off he tied her hands and feet.7
Early the next morning she awoke. Screaming for help she squirmed and to her surprise saw White Wolf standing before her with a sly grin. He put his large white hand over her mouth. "Hush my darling RedFox. You are safe now. You don't have to worry about making a choice. I have made it for you."8
Tears swelled up in her eyes as she struggled to her feet. "This is not your decision to make. Now I demand you to take me back to my tribe." She yelled. White Wolf roughly grabbed her arm causing her to wince in pain. And in a deep growl he told her, "well my little princess in this marriage you are gonna have to make some changes." She hissed in his face. "Well what if I don't want to marry you?" His face grew red. "Don't you ever talk to me like that you damned squaw!!" His fist landed hard against her jaw. Knocking her to the ground. He kicked her in the head. With a blood streaked face she cried "My people will have you shunned for what you are doing!" He laughed, "But they will never find out now will they?"9
Back at the tribe Chief Black Hawk was getting his warriors ready to find his young daughter. Spotted Horse was the first on their tracks. He noticed hoof prints in the dirt that belonged to a horse they found missing that morning. The stream of warriors followed closely behind. Spotted Horse was determined to find his woman. They led to the waterfall. Could the kidnapper have been dumb enough to not cover his tracks? Could this really be the end of the road? 10
They saw smoke from a campfire coming from behind the waterfall. RedFox screamed with terror and the warriors surrounded the falls. Spotted Horse snuck in assisted by a warrior friend. They were horrified by the sight of White Wolf repeatedly beating the innocent Indian princess.11
In a quick move to save his beloved, Spotted Horse shot two arrows through the neck of White Wolf causing him to land in a puddle of his own blood. RedFox ran in to Spotted Horse's arms and cried. 12
That spring the two were wed. It was clear who her true love was. Her heart now belonged to her hero.13

Good for Spotted Horse ... it's the ones who are always there to pull you out of a sticky situation that "should" get the rewards
You are a good storyteller Ms. Princess ... keep it up ... you have a great grasp of image and metaphor!!!

Original and lovely.
This is a really beautiful story with an unexpected twist! I honestly thought that she would elope with White Wolf. I certainly never expected him to attack her. A really original piece. Most enjoyable! -
Oh, my goodness, Princess Kiara. You are definitely a storywriter. WOW!
I can imagine a whole novel about this! There are some bits and pieces of me in this but, perhaps, not what you would think. One day, sweet daughter, I will sing you the song of my life and you will know the commonalities!
Thank you for writing this. It is absolutely beautiful!
Now, go to bed before you are grounded! grins and huggles
