Dear naive child,1
You may think this is absurd but please read on. I look at my life now and realize how magically perfect it has turned out to be. Please keep in mind I know all that happens in the next eight years. It may seem like this is of absolutely no value but I will be. Keep it close for easy access. 2
First off, Stay true to yourself and only do what makes you truly happy. Quit trying to please everyone around you, step back, take a breath, and relax. Then carry on with your life doing what you want rather then what everyone else wants.3
This year will seem like a roller coaster of events and emotions. The family problems are not your fault really they are no one's. The passing of loved ones is difficult but happen for a reason, to help you become a stronger person. Help Amy to understand this and that none of it is her fault either. 4
You will discover boys and have your first crush this year. Your best friend from third grade, actually. You must tell him how you feel or you will miss the opportunity. Don’t let him slip through your fingers; at least keep him close enough to be friends.5
Junior high are awkward years for -everyone-! Watch out for heart breakers. Your first serious boyfriend will crush your heart. The pain goes away, it defiantly isn’t worth taking your life over. Don’t lose you best friend over stupid boys. Friends are glue and you are paper; stick to them. 6
High school is honestly easier and not as stressful. You will meet the perfect boy and enjoy his company. At sixteen you will find you are pregnant and it will be no easy nine months. She is beautiful, enjoy her as she grows up and love the way she changes you life for the better. Don’t give up in high school! Make good grades, study a little more, and graduate. It’s all worth the time and effort.7
A few other tid-bits to think about:8
Keep all things that have sentimental value. Even if it seems bad then, in the future, you will wish you had those objects. 9
Amy is family: treat her like it. In the end she will be the only family you have. Protect her and love her for more than a sister; love her as a friend.10
Mistakes happen but try to have no regrets. Don’t keep making the same mistake always learn from them. Don’t let them get you down; nobody is perfect.11
Last, at times if all seems lost, remember: if it can’t go any lower, it must go higher. Always keep smiling and enjoy growing up.12
Sincerely,13
A little less naive girl

Great job babe, you have put a lot of 'insight' in this piece. You gave yourself great words to live by, that everyone could use to live a better life. I always wish that I can go back in time with the lessons I hvae learned now so I would feel mucher and would be able to lead a better life. It's funny how it can take us years to learn basic things... Thank you for sharing this personal letter to us all, it was a great read, and I leanred a lot from it. Keep on writing.
Much love,
Kevin
