SKUNKED~Part 4 of Pieces of Me

He rose before the sun, 1

to the moon lighting a path to his bedroom  door.2

The smell of fresh, hot, baked bread enticed him downstairs. 3

Freddy threw on his jeans, t~shirt and red high top sneakers and raced down to the kitchen.4

He grabbed a still, very warm medium sized loaf, sliced it down the center and slathered it with mom's homemade apple~butter and ran out the front door.5

There he sat on the porch rolling and banding the news papers he would deliver that morning. 6

He finished the last of his apple~butter bread and packed the papers in his white, canvas bag that he carried between his handlebars in a metal wire basket.7

Freddy thought he'd seen something move in the shadows at the end of the porch, he walked over to see if he could find anything but there was nothing.8

He went back into the house to let mom know he was leaving to deliver the papers and when he returned to his bicycle, there on the front walk was a very large skunk.9

He tried standing still but the skunk circled his feet and sniffed his shoes and then just made herself comfortable there on the walk.10

Freddy thought he could jump on his bike and race away from the smelly beast but when he tried the skunk did an about face and sprayed with perfect aim all over my brother. 11

I was awakened by him spouting words i'd never even heard my father use as he streaked through the house shedding his clothes at the same time heading for the shower.12

Four boxes of baking soda later, he emerged sweet smelling and laughing as he pictured himself running half naked through the house in a state of panic.

He got skunked, alright! Pfewww! Seems every chapter in your story reminds me of something that happened in my life. One night my husband and I were sitting in our back yard when suddenly there appeared not one but two skunks sniffing at our garbage. Next thing we knew, they were sniffing each other and they became very absorbed in each other to the point where they went tumbling down the little hill in our yard. It looked so funny as they rolled, black, white, black, white. When they were "finished", they strolled away. LOL Enjoyed this chapter! Looking forward to the next one!

hahahaha.... . I heard once that if you use ketchup the smell would go away....... can you imagine? A friend of mine put it all over his dog to stop the odious smell from the little striped fur ball. lol
Then, how do you get rid of the ketchup?.... ...... geeeeeez... one thing to the next.... it sounds like real life.

    lol

OUCH! Skunk in the chicken house was as close as I ever came to that experience; I shut the door on him as he sprayed but it still took a while to rid myself of the smell!

    Good work, Lurie!
