Ages come and Ages go. Time never stops. The wheel of life turns continuously with no hope of stopping. Le Royaume de Ténèbres, The Kingdom of Shadows, remained the same. Hopelessly suspended in time. No one ventured to the Kingdom and rarely did they venture away. 2

Le Royaume de Ténèbres had lain on the outskirts of the lands since the dawning of time. The Kingdom was forgotten to all but its closest of neighbors. To modern minds, it was nothing more than a legend, an ink blot on the map left over from some clumsy toddler playing with his father's quill. It was simply a forgotten shadow at the base of the Raindrop Mountains. To common knowledge, it didn't exist.3

But to the inhabitants of Le Royaume de Ténèbres it was very, very real. It was a quiet, peaceful Kingdom where nothing ever happened. It's queen, an age old spirit named Alvina, was a sad, strange woman who didn't seem to recognize her own death. She ruled quietly over the mist-covered, cobweb-infested streets. She rarely made appearances except in dire need. The Kingdom ran exactly the same way for hundreds of years and many generations. Then, by complete accident, they got their first visitor in recorded history.4

When that visitor came, it changed the lives of the people and the history of the Kingdom. Possibly forever.
