Politics

Some states have facilities that provide clean needles to heroine addicts.
That's like cutting cocaine with fluoride so the head can skip out on a trip to the dentist by rubbing for numbies.1

A two-party representative democracy is having the freedom to choose whether you prefer evisceration by a lion or a tiger.2

The "capitalists" and the "socialists" have attempted to reach a compromise. From now on we will all have no money, shitty healthcare, moral legislation, and a list of banned books at the library.3

In almost every case, security is more dangerous than the risk it protects us from.4

If you ban guns, the only people that will have them are criminals and police.5

If our taxes pay the salaries of politicians, then they are our employees and we their management. If you were the manager of a fast food restaurant and your clerks shot the customers and laid a coiled bean-snake shit in the french fries, would you continue their employment?6

To believe in any form of government is to believe that you need someone to dictate how you live, decide what you can and can't do, handle your money and punish you when you're wrong. So why don't you just get married?

Author notes

I will continue to update this for as long as it takes me to list everything I don't like about government. It will never be a completed work.

Dude, you have issues but I like them--you are funny. Steve Martin fun not the other kind.

    beginning: 5, language: 5, plot: 5, ending: 5, dialog: 5, characters: 5.

  • Sir, I salute you!

And the insanity of all is that people keep electing them. The politicians make promises that could not possibily be realized. And now, the system-due to much mismanagement- is collapsing. And what are they doing to remedy this: more of the same. It's time to hoard gold, and silver.

  • "If you ban guns, the only people that will have them are criminals and police." And that surely is the reason for banning them. If only the cops and the crims have weapons, they can shoot the living shit out of each other and everyone else can have a nice time. If you permit guns to be held by anyone else, expect a few hundred more dead kids, blown apart by disgruntled mental defective teenagers. Who cares? the more dead scum the better, from a utilitarian standpoint.

    • I've decided that statement is too vague. I mean banning guns would be a bad thing because criminals and police are the last two kinds of people you want in possession of firearms. We gotta have ours so we can shoot them when they come onto our property.

I will most certainly have to keep checking back as you add more to this. Humorous but sadly true in your words here. I agree.
I know some good quotes by Thomas Jefferson that would fit nicely among these- hope you don't mind me sharing them here with you:

"My reading of history convinces me that most bad government results from too much government."

"Politics is such a torment that I advise everyone I love not to mix with it."

"A democracy is nothing more than mob rule, where fifty-one percent of the people may take away the rights of the other forty-nine."

I enjoyed reading this and look forward to more

Oh good. I love a good political moan.

A two party representative democracy is indeed totally inane. It just allows a small group of people to control the majority and it actively discourages any opposition as people know that they will never be listened to unless they join one of the two parties.
I also agree that security is a misnomer. It's just an excuse for increased interference from the state into it's citizens lives. It helps maintain the staus quo by keeping people scared of doing anything out of the mainstream.
Every time i've voted the person i voted for has lost. Even if that person had won then they don't know me, or represent me in any way whatsoever. This is democracy and freedom is it? It's just a carnival con and we it's sheep like dupes who go to work, pay tax, breed our replacements, then die (and pay tax on our deaths).
I'll keep an eye on this interesting list and leave you with a quote.

'The only true choice is refusal to pay. life reduced to suicide or pain'.

Politics is the art of getting money from the rich, votes from the poor, and promising to protect each of them from the other.

I'll have to make sure I keep checking on this piece...
