The Greatest Transformation!

I ask you--when does the greatest transformation happen to someone? Is it when they use the power of their imagination to construct creative things? Is it when they make changes in society for the better? Or is it when they have an uncanny way of charming someone's affection just as a beautiful hummingbird charms the lady looking out of the window?1

If the greatest transformation happens to someone who uses the power of their imagination in order construct creative things, than it wouldn't matter whether someone was good or evil in order to achieve transformation in life--and we all know that this is not possible if someone evil NEVER changes his habits. Look at Hitler...He was quite imaginative--he imagined ways to kill millions of people and on TOP of that, NO ONE knew about it for the LONGEST time. Those execution tactics of his were most certainly a demonstration of a pretty creative imagination, don't you think? However....transformations are supposed to be BENEFICIAL to folks--not opposite, right?2

So...Naa, transformation should be something more dramatic and beautiful--like a flower slowly opening up during the night and then all gorgeous the next day with pretty petals and such. ...And well, as I have just shown you, having a creative imagination isn't the greatest transformation. So, let's move on....3

...If the greatest transformation happens to someone who makes changes in society for the better, than...well, not to knock that dude's principles or anything, but we all need to realize something--the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics. This law states that over time, things fall apart. Believe it or not, Oxford and Harvard University were founded mainly to train missionaries. What happened? No offense, but it's common knowledge that both universities are pretty, shall we say, on the sinful side. Why not build something good that lasts?? 4

Anything that is founded on mere human principles, no matter how great or scientific the dude is that came up with that GREAT idea, will eventually fall apart. Everyone knows this to be True because of the simple fact that humans make mistakes.5

...Therefore, no matter how much of a good influence someone has on society, it eventually dies off so to speak--especially after the dude is dead. So...Surely a transformation should last a lifetime, should it not? I mean a transformation is a transformation basically because it lasts a lifetime--otherwise, it isn't a transformation....LOL! 6

So finally....If the greatest transformation happens when someone has the uncanny ability to charm someone's affection, than I'm sorry, but the person who thinks this is a transformation, kinda needs to think again. Ladies...I have not been on this site for very long, but in the time I've been on, I have run across at LEAST ten poems that other girls wrote about guys ditching them--when before, they were deceiving them into thinking that they liked them. For someone who knows that they have this ability, needs to kindly consider not using this manipulative tactic in order to just get a "short-term girl." 7

So...That is called DESTRUCTION! It is NOT a transformation--deceiving someone into liking you, is destruction both for you and the person using this...."ability." And, if you, (knowing that this dude/dudette doesn't really love you), "play along" with them, you are no better than they are! For, you are purposefully allowing yourself to be deceived--and, like I said before, that will destroy both you and the person using this "ability"---NOT transform! 8

....By now, some of you might be a little upset at me for all I've said thus far and I'm sorry if I made you angry. However...This is as honest as I can be with you on this particular subject... 9

"So, if the above things aren't a transformation, than what is?"10

True transformation happens when there is a change in someone's personality for the better. Now, since everyone makes mistakes, there is NO WAY that they can change their personality on their own. You simply can't--if you could, you would be perfect. 11

"What was your point in all this, JFB? You never really answered the contest question...Imagine that you are a “Transformer”.  Describe...what you would become after being “transformed”."12

First of all, you have to be transformed FIRST in order to become a transformer. And like I said before, you can't transform all on your own--you need to rely on someone's help in order to acheive this. Yes, I believe in Jesus Christ and I say that the ONLY way anyone can become ANYTHING is by relying on Him to transform us and THEN, we do our part to change. Like I said before, if a bad man doesn't change his ways, he amounts to nothing.13

We were all like that bad man. We disobeyed God's laws and now we have to suffer the consequences for disobeying them. However, God sent His Son Jesus to pay our fine of sin on the cross. So, when Jesus died, he paid the WHOLE world's fine of sin. Now...All ANYONE has to do is three things...14

Ask forgiveness of disobeying God15

Repent (Stop doing/turn away from) our disobedience to God.16

And finally....Trust in Jesus--the same way you would trust a parachute and put it on before jumping off an airplane. "Put on" the Lord Jesus Christ and make Him the Lord of your life. 17

And so, what happens than? Jesus TRANSFORMS us and makes us a new person every time we allow Him to work through us. ...And then and ONLY then, can we become TRUE transformers indeed!18

As for what I myself would be like, I cannot say--simply because I cannot describe my personality. It is unique--and so is everyone else's. However, I can know for a fact that I would probably act more like Jesus and things like that. I'm still growing--and as we know, growing happens pert near all the time. (Grins).19

Author notes

(I will build up to my point later in this excerpt. However, there are some issues to be addressed first in order to get a clearer understanding of why I think that way I do.)

Well, the whole concept is a little shaky. Firstly, to preface the transformation with 'great' makes it highly ambiguous. Are we talking radical change, or change from good to bad, or what? It’s a highly ambiguous premise. Also, since when did transformations dictate that you must go from bad to good? Haven't you ever read Kafka's metamorphosis? That was patently a case of a transformation from good to bad. Transformations are the act of changing in composition or character. Also, Hitler was not the architect of the Holocaust. Hitler was the guy who wanted to send all the Jews somewhere down to Australia. The guy who really designed everything was Eichmann. It seems you are sadly mistaken in your facts about the holocaust. Also, many people knew tons about it. The problem was indolence. No one acknowledged the problem until it was too late. Check your facts before using them in a persuasive essay.

Now, onto your application of Thermodynamics. The 2nd law deals primarily with entropy and energy. Entropy, of course, is the amount of disorder in a system. The 2nd law states that as time goes on and a system repeats itself over and over, there is no way to regenerate the potential energy unless energy is input. It also states that energy is lost to heat and what not, ineluctably. Now, it is nearly impossible to apply this to philosophy, because if you do, then the very law, which was made by man, is subject to degradation. Now we are dealing in high theoretical, here. Also, some principles created by man, such as many scientific principles. Now you also state that things made by man, such as principles and ideals, fall apart. That is inevitability. Now, apply that to Jesus. His influence, because he was part man, is subject to entropy. That violates the whole premise of your argument, my friend.

Also, you are misinformed on the nature of philosophical discussion in the form of an essay. You try to speak in as few ambiguities as you can, and you define everything as you go along. You assign a completely arbitrary definition to transformation by making capricious assumptions, then contradicting them. No one has said transformations are definite. There is always chance for recession. Again, erratic assumptions plague your composition.

Anyway, what is so wrong about having a complete change of heart and helping people without the impetus of Jesus? You state that the greatest transformation is letting yourself be formed by Jesus. Now, inevitably, this leads to you changing the way you feel about society and deciding to better it directly through your influence, such as helping people, is it not? Doesn’t that violate your second part of the argument about entropy?

All in all, it is highly difficult to not regard this as a poorly constructed, ill-proven, piece of mess, redolent with the fetid stench of theology.

    Good day, my friend.
Haven't you ever read Kafka's metamorphisis?
