Your best friend has just moved away. You miss him or her terribly. Now what? 3

First of all, if you’re the one that moved, just accept it. Chances are, there’s no going back now. You have to move on, and accept your new life. But that doesn’t mean you can’t have your old friends in it. And same goes if it’s your best buddy that has just moved. 4

Face-to-face conversations are always better, but sometimes that’s not possible. That’s where phones come in. Even though you would prefer to hang out with them in person, phone calls can be fun and help keep a friendship together. I’d recommended talking at least once a week. Plan a specific day of the week, and time to talk. 5

Another form of communication are social sites. I’m guessing your already a member of a social site, such as Facebook or Myspace. If not, immediately join one, and add your far away friend as a buddy. There are so many fun and creative ways to keep in contact through these sites. 6

Letters are a personal way to communicate, though definitely not the fastest. By sending a letter the receiver will know you care about them by putting in enough effort to sit down and write them. You could even include a photo along with it!7

Sending a magnificent care package can also be a great way to show you care. And they are a whole lot of fun to put together. You could include anything you want; things involving your inside jokes, their favorite treats, pictures, mix CD’s, or anything else you might want to add. Then, ship it off to them. 8

Maybe take a trip together too. Whether it be cross-country, across state, or just across town. Also, make sure you’ll be able to meet up with each other at least once a year, if not more. 9
