To All the Special Teachers Who Have Impacted My Life,

Dearest Teachers,

They say that teachers are sculptors of young lives. I was fortunate to be shaped by you! A year in your class taught me how to study and to no longer lose in thoughts that I found new. Your genuine concern and devotion embody other virtues that have impacted me as well such as patience, tolerance, understandingg and perseverance. You so diligently impact your knowledge to us by hours of outside research in order to amplify in your reasons as enter wee as our hearts. After all the books and lesson plans, no test can touch the things that make us care. Knowledge is not the ultimate seed they sow, but it is then devotion in shaping our minds.

You're the person whom I most admire, the person whom I most would like to be. Your friendship, like a torch, has lit a fire deep within the cave where I am me. Because of you, I want to be a teacher, touching someone's life as you've touched mine; and when I'm “you,” I'll know just how to reach “her,” giving her the faith that she needs to shine. Though you now must leave, and we must part, a little piece of you remains behind, held with gratitude within my heart. You will be part of everything I do. When I need strength, I'll look inside for you.

Thank you for being there for me. You knew that I was on a downhill slide and that all I wanted was to get away and find a place to hide. I'm sorry about the tears that I shed. I was a little out of control, but you understood my feelings and my heart. Thank you for not laughing, but caring and listening with open ears, to let me pour my heart out and gain control of all my fears. Thank you for building my self esteem and also for giving me back my pride; the way you talked and listened made me feel much better inside. So how can I really thank you, for the time that you shared with me?How can I thank you for being a friend, who by my side will always be?

You, my dearest teachers, flow like mountain streams  4

High up through ice and snow 5

And bring their learning down to earth, 6

Not far from what we know.

Sincerely,

Maleen N 7

    lovely

Lovely letter/poem tribute...sure to warm the heart of the teacher who recieves it. I can't think of a more wonderful way to repay the effort and concern a teacher has shown than this. Thank you for sharing this wonderful and obviously sincerely appreciative piece.

This is a great and inspiring poem~~ I feel the same way about my teachers, I really look up to them-- I actually keep in touch with all of them.. I also want to be a teacher (English...) And some of them are ones I talk to like counselors.. they are great! I actually have lunch with a teacher I had a few years ago. I might do a Latin Dance demo in her classroom, being that she is a Spanish teacher. And I might babysitt for a few...

you seem in genuine respect and care with these teachers. The ending poem shows the missing link between haiku and the language features of sonnets, its a really really hard thing to i know ive tried loads of times!
