Shay's Cancer Journey

Many, many moons ago, a young half-ling girl was faced with one of many trials of hardship. the knowledge of having Cancer. She was very ill, but hid it well. She was pregnant and frightened. the months past and she bottled it up.1

One night during a party she left early, taken to hospital and staying in for a few days. During that time she miscarried, her friends visited and the look on their faces told her how worried sick they were for her. it was then she decided not to say a word to anyone. She spent countless hours worried, to scared, to tell her friends or family.2

Going to the doctors almost daily, she was told of many treatment centers. she left it waiting thinking things through, still seeing the doctor, till at last she had decided. She decided the best one or her was near her Uncle's house, in a different state.3

One day she turned around and told her best friend, Mathew. he cought her in his arms, holding her close so she couldn't see his tears he said, "It's ok Shay, i'll be here for you no matter what." Finally she shed tears, the first of many more to come. the days went by she contacted her Uncle, who then started making arrangements for her. 4

Mathew, drove to Adelaide with her they spent a weekend shopping and laughing, all the while Shay was feeling worse and worse. they got to the airport on time, Mathew and Shay said their Goodbyes in tears. Shay got on the plane crying, she cried the whole way there. getting off the plane she was meet by her cousins and Uncle. driving back to there house she fell asleep. on arrival she woke they unloaded the car and went to bed. the next morning the kids had school. 5

Shay checked in at the treatment center. for the next few months she had treatment went home to her uncles went back. some times she stayed up at the hospital. 6

She told her family and friends she was going to Melbourne to study music. they were proud of her and no one was none the wiser. ringing them every few days hating that she was lying to them but not wanting the to know the truth. 7

She had a visit from an old friend who was battling Cancer when Shay's twin was around. Alica invited her to attend a few coven circles and when she was up to them she went happily, making friends with the other coven members. 8

Daily Shay rung Mathew and they spoke, sometimes they cried but most of the time he cheered her up. finally after moths of agonizing treatment Shay was given the clear and went home.9

Mathew meet her at the airport and they visited all there friends. finally things were looking up. with the Cancer gone she made plans to start school again in the new year.
