those little things we did.

Let`s pick a decade ? ... 1980, why then ! well why not. Most people of today take so much for granted ... I know that I do and we really should`nt.  Younger people could not imagine life without computer`s or shop`s that are open 24/7, but there was a time not so long ago in a nearby place ... when there was no computer`s and every shop was closed by about 7-30 pm.1

I can remember the highlight of our evening was The Top Forty Charts on Radio One with Tony Blackburn or The Friday Rock Show with Tommy Vance ?,2

We had simple entertainment like playing footie in the street until it was too dark to see the ball ... or the local Girl`s would sit in the street singing Wham songs ! ... those poor creature`s.3

After 7-30 pm everything around us was shut except the local pub`s where we would hang around outside and get the older folks to bring us a bottle out to share, our Village was a real Village back then` and we only saw the odd car or bus passing along the main street every half hour or so.4

So` why am I scribbling all this ? ... good question !! I guess that maybe I just wanted to make a record of stuff before I forget such things.5

What were the 80`s really like ? .. a bit crazy and rather boring in parts too ... because the music was evolving using old songs and the new trend`s were rather silly at times, Guy`s would wear make-up more than girl`s ? and the female`s were starting to get that " Girl Power " thingy.6

then there was the Computer Revolution just starting too ! which was really fun to look back to, I was drunk often and trying to break in to the Music business with a few friends ...while I was also trying to catch up with my education .. because I could not read or write at the age of Seventeen ( 17 ) .. which was rather shameful really.7

anyway` that's all for now.8

who knows what I shall scribble next.9

All feedback is most welcome.10

twas a grand time and I mostly miss going to the ROXY in York or going to see RAINBOW and QUEEN ... such treasure`s happen once in a lifetime, tiz amazing how many young people think that TOP GUN is cool ! .... I just loved the TOMCAT`s .. they are almost as impresSive as our own TORNADO`s that were based at RAF CONINGSBY ... I would spend all day sat at the end of the runway watching them do " touch & go " all day AWESOME.
I can always remember a Spitfire playing " cat & mouse " with a Tornado ... that could`nt stay with it ... lol.

the good days of the 60's 70's ;)

shared your thoughts, I think God would be wanting us to realise Computors can't replace us and who will be taking the blame now the honest person with GOd in their heart for a more peace loving world Glad you at least found allpoetry and able to share your feelings as me as you can see you are not alone I think there is a great place in heaven where we will all meet and will be able to remember all the love we gave on dear mother earth as I are been inspired by so many and you included and understand so much more about our elders now and god loves and he must understand how hard it appears at time and glad of that ant movie as I think of Eve I have even myself told GoD I was sorry about running over a ant nest as I realise I was only a young kid climbing up a ant's hill but I was only testing my fear and in my time I had seen worse done to their nests, it was normal for young boys back then and its all helped me understand man's fear but I love the ants as long as they stay outside and don't bite!!!
    Love anD Peace
    ~Pauline`~
At least back then I noticed the ants running about like crazy unlike humans today and to think we could all be enjoying mother earth together after all are all human's looking after everything GoD gave, that's the aim and we need to drop the blame ay ay ay hey hey hey i think john lennon knew its just a dream, imagine please stay happy

    Hello Krissy,
thankz for your kind comments and it is great that you are the first person to make comment on this subject .
When I stop and look around me ! this world of ours seems to be slowly going crazy, how I wish life was still so simple and then everyone would be able to relax a lot more.

    thank you

    your friend

Ah the simplicity of what life used to be compared to the chaos that it is now. Things change. In time, everything morphs to society. Great story here Carl. Makes you realize what you have no and take for granted, was once considered a luxery. Love always,

    Kristen ♥
