I made the graphic from a picture I had taken of elephant grass. I had thought that the seed parts looked like angel wings, then when I saw this contest I used that as a basis for the graphic, changing it to what it is, working on one side, then flipping it to make it symmetrical.2

I'm glad I did this. I don't usually do visual stuff unless I need to and with this I started a whole new technique.
-
I thought it was really nifty...the blurriness was a good touch, seeing as no one could probably look straight at a demon. You might be able to say that if you actually saw a demon, you would cry, and I know I can't see straight through tears. Nifty! Thanks for thinking about entering my contest...it will be so cool if I actually get more than one entry in this one! Peace and Love!

Manic appeal; story of my life.
-
Well done it has its own manic appeal all the best with this

Glad you liked it. I'm always somewhat amazed that most folks don't think and see the same as me and I have to explain things somethines. I always mean to spend more time on graphics, but time never co-operates. Peace.
-
Awesome. Thanks for explaining your inspiration from bloodlines to me and for the flattering use of my first initial. I like your take on Demons as pigs from the biblical context. Fab job!
-
I never listen to anyone except that voice inside my head; oh yeah, and Buggs Bunny.
-
well i think its very good. well done. it leads the person to make it want they want. dont listen to everyone else.
lol

Umm, bitmap is the format that carries the most information. It is supposed to be blurry.
-
It was indeed computer made.
-
I've liked stuff like that since the 60s. Psychedelic.
-
Its too blurry and its a bitmap, there's no contrast in colors, and I don't think it would be adequate as the cover of a book. Nice picture though...once my eyes adjust
. I'm sure it was a beautiful pic of elephant grass.
-
Hmm... that's prettty cool!

i think the image is all right, but i dont think it fits the story. the image just looked like a big jumble of pixellated color with some shapes here and there. good effort, and good luck. peace

I think the image was a little too abstract. I couldnt really make out what it was supposed to be. It didnt really seem like a drawing either, maybe a computer made image.
Good luck anyhow,

This was wonde4rful, I got so many diffrent veiws from just this one picture, Kind of lets your mind wander, I love when picturs do that rather then just make me think kne peticuler thing, Or let me see just one thing. Good luck to you.
-
I couldn't have said it better myself.
-
Excellent
Abstract art never fails to please me as instead of having the subject in you face...you have to go see what you will find
Everyone finds something different which makes it almost magic as what I would percieve is not necessarely what the artist intended..as I said "Magic".
-
Me? I'm the opposite. Different strokes for different folks; as they say.
-
I dunno, it's too confusing and hurts my eyes. abstract poetry may be my thing but not abstract art. good luck anyway
-
Thanks. It's what comes of being trapped in the 70s. I still have Smoke On The Water stuck in my head.
-
that is a pretty damn cool picture!
there is loads to look at! i love how you mentioned it looks like a demon with horns if you look at it small, I just squinted my eyes...but it still looks damned cool!

If you smoke a little bit of something wonderful your eyes will scale up.
-
Spoken like a true child of the universe.
-
Hmmm. I think it is a bit too abstract, and is really hard to make out. However, it does look great when scaled down!
-
who! that's freakin' cool, and I actually said that out loud! awsome picture!
-
Glad you like. I'm using it as my MSN icon now because when you make it down small it's a demon face with the wings as goat horns. I didn't mention that above because the person who wants a pic wants it full size for a book cover or something. I think I spent too much time in the psychedelic seventies.
-
wow, nice effects used. I like the ultra sound idea. Its really good and you have to really look at it which i like alot! well done!

I used elements from demonology and the story, but the scene that got me going was the character being transformed into an angel and being forced to his knees.
-
hmmm... maybe i should try that sometime...
thanks! -
That's a great way to get the pic seen. But for this contest, reading Bloodlines is required and in the story field, I need you to describe which scene inspired the art and why.

I never really try to do any particular thing. I just play, and sometimes I hit the "SAVE" button. Just play and you never know what you'll create.
-
wow i like this picture...
what else can i say? that kind of creativity has sort of never been my thing.
i really liked it! -
Gee, what I intended to be seen. It is symmetrical, left to right, and a computer graphic. The original size is 448X447 pixels. At the top you see a pig face. Right under that is the angel/demon's head. He is presenting something and his body is kind of shrunken back with fear. Between his legs looks a bit like part of a woman. The whole thing is meant to look a bit like an ultrasound scan. I thought that generally the graphic fit the theme of the story.

That's where it is, I hope. I do a lot of graphic stuff, not much the same as anything else. That would be boring. Believe it or not, that started out as a scenery pic and I was just staering to make a tile when I noticed that if I brought the two halves in It would look a bit like an angel, but when I saw how warped it would look I changed my mind to demon. As it was only half I was working with I just made a couple of small changes to bring out some of the other symbolism and played with the colours. It was mostly done on WinNT in MSPaint at work and the colour manipulation in the photo part of MSOffice. I have all kinds of fancy photo suites at home and hardly ever use them.
One I do like is Corel Photosuite 6 because you can do some great stuff with fractals in it.
I do all the graphics for my web sites, mostly starting from my own pictures or a collection of antique pictures I bought at an auction. -
beautiful
very striking how did you make the image is it a computer image or is it a painting and how large is it? it would make a lovely book cover that would make me want to open the book and read it definitely.love the colours you used is it totally abstract or are there figures in it its hard to tell where the angels are because the image isnt all that clear on the link you sent or maybe its just my eyes needing glasses. it reminds me of those three d pictures where you lose your focus and another picture pops up in the picture if you have seen them and know what i mean.
