burn--new time 6

?Good morning sweet hart.? Father Nathaniel blinked as he heard this. He looked up to find the old man looking lovingly down on him. ?I found you. You can?t get away now.? Father Nathaniel made to get out of the bed to find he had been tied to the bedposts.  Father Nathaniel screamed. ?Hush now love. You screams only make me want you more.?  the old man whispered as he stroked Father Nathaniel?s strawberry blond ear length hair with his old brown gnarled hands. The old man?s greasy gray hair sticking to his sweaty greasy face.  His kaleidoscope gray blue eyes dilated as he lowered his face toward Nathaniel. He closed his wrinkled eyelids and puckered his old blue lips. Father Nathaniel passed out from the putrid smell of the old man?s breath as the old man dealt him a sloppy slobbery kiss.1

Lyde danced in front of the mirror in a pale rose-colored gown. She let her honey colored hair flow to her waist. She stuck small heather blooms in her hair and spun around. Vashen had put on music that he liked. Lyde feel in love instantly with the flow of the tune. The words comforted her and she sung along. Vashen smiled as Lyde twirled around.  Memories he had never known came rushing into his head. He let him self wander around in them knowing they were of a past life.2

He watched though the railing of a stair was while a beautiful princess twirled to the music in her head, he had been too shy to tell her of his feelings then. He was not going to let that happen again.3

Lyde smiled sharing with Vashen the memory of a past life they had together. She felt a closeness to him that as not normal for her. She knew he had shared many lives with her, in each of them, they loved each other.  Lyde continued to sing to the music Vashen was playing.  Vashen got up from where he sat and took Lyde?s tiny body in his arms and spun her around. ?Dance with me.? He whispered longing echoed in his words. He breathed her in as they danced. He ran his hand down her perfect back. He looked into Lyde?s beautiful blue eyes. He did not need to say anything. She knew his thoughts. He sweetly kissed her lips and felt her body rise against him. 4

Lyde felt his soul release the melancholy ways of his world and allow it?s self ecstasy. She kissed back with all she had allowing her soul to follow his into ecstasy, she lead her hand up his side and placed it on his cheek. She stopped and looked at him again. His eyes said everything. She kissed him again. She could taste his magic and it excited her above what she could comprehend. 5

Vashen drank in her sweet sent, his head danced out the window into another world. He knew he loved her. He also knew he had to fight to keep her. It was just the way their souls knew. He was destined to fight for her in every life. He knew this and excepted this fate. For Lyde, he was willing to stare down Death?s throat.6

Lyde was amazed at Vashen?s silent pledge to keep her safe. She knew why. He was her soul mate and he was willing to die for her. She was also willing to die for him. She had known him for such a short time in this life but she and he had known each other since their beginnings. 7

Father Bob scooted the Old man out of Father Nathaniel?s room. ?That will do.? Father Bob said wearing a smile. Then, using a wet sponge on Father Nathaniel?s forehead, said; ?Your boyfriend insisted I let him see you. ?Leave me.? Father Nathaniel told Father Bob. Father Bob left. ?Brothers! Can thou hear me? I need thee to concentrate on sending me weapons to kill the evil beast that was transferred here.?  Father Nathaniel waited. ?Art all of thee asleep??  It took Father Nathaniel an hour more of yelling at the ceiling to understand that his brethren were dead. Father Nathaniel focused upon creating the weapons himself. Three day?s later he materialized a tiny holy light pointer. This was all he needed to kill Lyde. The holy light would cancel out her magic long enough for him to strike her with his sword.8

The dead bodies of the preists heard Nathaniel?s cries. The Earth had refused to suck in their filthy blood. They formed together into one body. The dead moon turned her solemn face from this un pure creation as it took it?s forum. Instead, she decided to shine her pale light upon the gnarled figure of Samuel?s baby brother. His blackened skin hardened into a stone like outer oval covering while his interior became a lucid silver fluid.9

When Samuel?s baby brother was finished transforming Seth took him in a blanket and dragged him back to Samuel. Seth did not see the ugly and un clean beast being formed in the darkness of the night. It bubbled and ripped the flesh until it became a dark purple fluid. There it sat skunking up the earth beneath it. The earth refused to absorb any of it?s disgusting being. The liquid boiled and crusted over. Layer by layer it formed it?s self.  When the dawn came it ran with it?s new made legs into the forest so as not to be scotched by the light of the sun.10

Seth Walked merrily around showing Samuel where he had found the onyx black egg that was now being kept in a hearth fire. ?Seth, did thou see what happened to the bodies of the preists I had slain t?other day??  Seth sniffed around. ?I know not sir.? A dark musky green cloud covered the light from the sun and made a rotten darkness fill the air around them. A tri-tone laugh escaped from the musk. A small tornado came to the ground but it did not blow anything around it.11

From the green tornado came the form of a hideous creature. It had thin legs with horns protruding from every inch of it. It?s body was hunched over and an ugly rotted green color. It had a large face that was horribly misshapen, a lopsided moth, no nose, and one ugly small red eye. It spoke in a tri-tone voice. ?Evil Beast. I can destroy thee now.? Seth gave Samuel his sword. He held it ready to attack.12

Nathaniel headed toward the place his gut told him Lyde would be. He hid in the shade of a park tree. Lyde walked hand and hand with Vashen in the park looking like characters out of an oil painting. Lyde was wearing a long light blue dress and Vashen was wearing a tuxedo. They were on their way to a costume party.  Lyde was talking happily sharing with Vashen sharing with him her memories of her life in the burning times. ?I was never told which of them my real mother was. I never really gave it much thought until just recently.  Gerinode was definitely in charge. She was the oldest and the wisest of us. Nevertheless, she respected us for our individual talents. Now that I actually think of it I think Gerinode bore Rica and Arachnia, and I suspect one of them bore me.? She laughed thinking about how ridiculous it might have seemed to Vashen, to never know your own mother even though you lived with her.13

As Vashen began to regale a story from his past, he felt a slight tingle in his back. He turned just in time to see Father Nathaniel move around. When Father Nathaniel realized he was spotted her jumped from the shade. He turned the pointer on and pointed it into the chest of Lyde. Lyde screamed in pain as the light seared her flesh. Vashen put his hand over her chest and allowed the light to burn his own hand. His blood and her blood pooled together in small droplets on the asphalt. From the blood was formed a sword, Vashen picked up the sword and used it to reflect the holy light back on to Father Nathaniel. 14

Father Nathaniel dropped the holy light and picked from the ground his own sword. Vashen and Nathaniel clashed sword against sword. Sparks flew. Nathaniel drove hard with his sword. Vashen sliced back sparks flew as the two swords collided. As the two swords locked against one another both swordsmen leaned into their sword to put into it all their weight trying to knock the other down. Nathaniel broke his sword from the lock and swung formlessly at Vashen. In a fast act, Vashen plunged his sword into the heart of Father Nathaniel. Father Nathaniel?s sword fell to the ground and made a large clatter before his body hit the ground with a thud. The winds in the sky swirled together as if to apprise the fighting.15
