Millions and trillions of years ago, our Earth was absolutely nothing! An empty, flat, barren wasteland, there was no life, and Earth had just been created. All was its use, was to just hang there uselessly in the jet-black sky. Since there was no life, that meant there were no animals, plants, or any type of food, insects, water, etc. But, there was dirt, packed deep into the Earth, and as hard as concrete, therefore, one reason why nothing had grown. Days after Earth had been born, two young star signs, a female Libra and Scorpio, who were also good friends, changed the course of history caused by an accident of a glass of water. 2
In a midnight galaxy, Libra and Scorpio, were settled next to each other letting their minds ponder over the strange new born planet, and chattering on about their thoughts. In their time, and in their minds, they had both named this planet, Planet Blank, “Well because it is blank! There is nothing to this planet!” they had both decided.3
“Wouldn’t it be nice to see this…planet become something beautiful? All those other planets have something interesting about them, but they’re certainly not that special.” Scorpio chirped and motioned her head to the other six planets which had also just been created a few weeks ago.4
“Yes, I do agree.” Libra sighed, “Honestly, it cannot just sit there doing nothing. I wonder if Planet Blank is sad. Do you think it is possible for a planet to be sad?” Libra questioned.5
“What? Planets can’t have emotions, don’t be ridiculous.” Scorpio replied and wrinkled her nose. Libra formed a hurt expression on her face, she was only asking a question.6
“Well, I suppose it’d be beautiful if-“she (Libra) began, when she was then interrupted,7
“I’m parched.” Scorpio sat up and declared happily but loudly. Libra glanced over at her friend with annoyance wondering if she had known that she was in the middle of saying something. Libra began to protest, but decided to let her emotions drop. She rolled her eyes and stood up, trailing behind Scorpio, 8
“Let’s go get you some galaxy water then.” She muttered. Now you must understand that the water in space, is, or was quite different then our water here on Earth is.9
The two returned moments later, now hovering over Planet Blank, 10
“Now, what were you saying before?” Scorpio took a sip of her water and blinked at Libra. Libra smiled, at least Scorpio had noticed she that she had interrupted her.11
“Oh, right, as I was saying. I think that Planet Blank would be beautiful if—“ She began once more when someone shouted “Watch out!”12
Scorpio and Libra instinctively turned to see a medium sized asteroid, big enough for kicking around like a soccer ball, hurtling towards them. In unison, the two shrieked and ducked, instead, the asteroid whacked Libra’ left scale, tumbling into the pocket, and tilting her sideways, falling into Scorpio’s arm which had made her drop her glass of water and fall down to the place below them.13
It was Aries, another astrological sign who had kicked the asteroid. Aries came flouncing up behind them, out of breath.14
“Oops.” He said, “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to, I was only playing around!” Aries practically yelped it.15
“That is not good!” Libra squealed on the verge of tears. She stared mourningly as the glass of water plummeted to Planet Blank.16
“Nope, I agree.” Scorpio chimed in. 17
Aries, Libra, and Scorpio watched horrifically as the glass, (which I might add, everything in space is way larger than our everyday things, such as a glass of water.) shattered into a billion, tiny pieces, scattering everywhere colliding with the dirt, but hardly making it budge. Seconds later, the water followed and crashed to the blank planet. The three shielded their eyes, thinking that there was to be a large explosion, but there was not. Just a loud, rumbling sound. They removed their hands from their eyes and examined the planet. There was a small difference they could tell; the water was a beautiful light aqua color, that’s it. The water hit some of the places on Earth, some more than other places, and those other places had very little or no water at all.18
As for the glass, the water loosened the hardest of packed-dirt, and the teeny pieces of glass mixed with the dirt, forming sand.19
Libra sucked in her breath; her eyes bugged out,20
“This is not good! Couldn’t you have watched where you kick your play equipment?!” 21
Libra shrieked with rage at Aries, “Now look what you’ve done!” She went on; Scorpio immediately put her arm out, motioning her to shush up.22
“I didn’t mean to!” Aries protested. Scorpio did the same with her arm to him.23
“Quiet! Both of you, yelling is not going to help anything!” Scorpio pointed out, 24
“I’ve been thinking, our homes aren’t anywhere near here, maybe if we just wander away, act like nothing has happened, no one is going to notice. It is only a little bit of water, nothing should happen. All the water will probably just dry up anyways in a week or so, right?” Scorpio tried to say convincingly, she forced a smile and shrugged.25
“Alright,” Aries nodded his head, “Libra? I know this was not a good thing, but I think Scorpio is right, let’s just float off. I don’t think anyone will notice either.” He tried.26
Libra huffed a mumbled “Fine.” And they stumbled back to their homes, not speaking one word along the way.27
Hundreds of years passed, and the three tried to stay as far from Planet Blank as possible, trying to forget about the accident. Eventually, they did, and they paid no mind to the planet, and had not realized the planet was in fact, changing, it was growing.28
There were oceans, small or large rivers, streams, and lakes. The rain cycle happened, meaning there was rain, evaporation, and science was basically born as well. Things grew: plants, animals, food, and trees which created the oxygen! From time to time, there were hurricanes, tornadoes, and fires happened in some places. Everything that makes our Earth what it is now. From then on, the Earth took its course from there.29
And this is how the planet Earth came to be.30
Author notes
Anyways...
This was for a school project, we had to write our own myths on whatever we wanted, it could be as serious as we wanted, or was crazy! I am kind of proud of it, and I'd love your oppinions! It's supposed to be kind of crazy..you know because Stars don't really drink water...or do they? xD
Thanks for reading! I really do appreciate it!

Oh yeah
Super duper original. Very creative. had a very mythological vibe

This was very original, and not a bad read. Thanks for entering, and good luck in the contest.

P1: "All was its use, was to just hang there uselessly..." That is worded in an awkward way. Perhaps you could benefit from revision?
P3: "In a midnight galaxy, two friends...." You already told us they were friends. There is no need to repeat it so soon.
P9: "then" should be "than"
P18: the parenthesized statement in the first sentence is worded strangely.
This is interesting. I like your spin on this and I like the characterization of the three signs. They all sound like kids to me. Especially Libra. And you made Scorpio's characterization very true to how one of the Scorpio sign is supposed to be. I'm a scorpio. I act just like your Scorpio.
This is original and humerous, an all around nice job. -
Lol, this is funny in a mythical kinda way. Yeah, this is definitely something to be proud of . And of course stars drink water, they would die of thirst if they didn't.

It's great, really something to be proud of!
I really love it.
What score did you get for the project? It better have been high.
I love your theory behind the story,
Seriously, I love it.
Well done,

interesting creative thought
well you should be proud of it, like you said. i thought it was very creative, and used interesting concepts that i was already aware of, such as the astro signs, to made them into a cute story.
i can tell that you are younger than me by your writing, but i can also tell that you have a good grasp on logic for your age by your useage of words like "and, but, or" etc. i thought it was great, it made me smile, and you should keep writing to harness it and improve it, though not to say it needs improvement by any means.
simple punctuation at spots like line 20, where you would use a ; instead of a comma, because instead of using the word "and", you are joining two seperate sentences with a symbol.
it does sound kind of like you may have rushed to finish once you got near the end, and the details become somewhat sketchier, but after two re-writes i think this story would be a lot more in depth and intriguing. good job. like i said, it made me smile and it was fun thinking about the planet for a minute.
