The Story about Orla and Odie the Two Orignal Celitc
Ostrich's ! Chapter 1 ! Orla and Odie Grow Up.2
W. Peter Sanci Feb. 16 / 20093
Well hi there once again my dear, dear friend’s.
It’s been a while since I have witten anything.
But I have for you today a cute little story about an Ostrich named Orla.
Now Orla for those of you who didn’t know, is a Celtic name.
Now the first thing you’re going to say I show in the world does an animal living in Africa receive a Celtic name ?
That my friend’s is part of the story, so just sit back and enjoy the story.4
Pg.25
One day many, many years ago in the heart of darkest Africa, there lived an old Celtic Priest by the name of Cuchuliann .
He lived by himself because he despised the way that the world had become.
So he chose to withdraw form it and live alone in a small cabin in the deepest darkest part of the forest.
He had no one to talk to.
So he decided he would raise Ostriches.
He heard that they were pleasant to be around, and pretty smart, so that’s just what he did.6
Pg. 37
He went into town to see if he could buy a couple of ostrich babies.
He was in luck, a mother ostrich had just hatched a fine clutch of 25 eggs.
So he knew he could have the pick of the litter.
Well he spent some time looking over all of the babies and then he spotted two over in the corner by themselves.
“ By george,” he smiled, “Them’s the two I want.” So he mad sure that they were one of each sex, male and female of course and off he went smiling.
The first thing he did when he arrived home was to set up a little warm corner for his two new guests.
He set up a large old box, next to his stove to keep them warm.8

Pg. 410
Did you know that ostrich’s are nomadic, which means they wander around from place to place never settling down in one area for too long.
They also have excellent eyesight and very good hearing.
They drink a gallon and a half of water per day, and are capable fo powerful kick with their hind legs.
Our old man, hadn’t any idea of what they ate so he had to look it up.
Ostrich’s eat various seeds, grasses, and bushes the enclyopedia said.
They supplement this with eating small vertebrates and invertebrates which they catch while running.
A grown ostrich can stand nearly 8 ft. tall and weigh between 140 to 230 lbs..11
Pg. 512
“ Wholly cow, the old man sighed, I never imagined they would get that big.”
So that first night they all slept soundly.
The old man woke up extra earlythe next morning, to make sure he had their food ready for them.
When they awoke they greedily goobled up all of the food he had put out.
“ Man they eat a lot,” he chuckled to himself.
So then he went about to try to train his new pets.
Well my fiends it was the funniest thing to watch in my life, this old man running around with these two baby ostrich’s on a leash.13
Pg. 614
Well as l said earlier they are pretty smart creatures so it didn’t take him long to train them.
Before too long he had them doing all kinds of chores for him and they were good company for him to talk to in the evening hours.
So I think that our friend did himself a good turn in adopting those two baby ostrich’s.
The End

Thank you for entering my contest.
However, I do have several suggestions that could help in tightening up your interesting, little tale.
I suggest you call your story - THE STORY OF THE TWO ORIGINAL CELTIC OSTRICHES.
PARAGRAPH 1 - the plural of ostrich is ostriches, not ostrich's.
paragraph 4 - it should read, dear, dear friends.
Leave out 'But' and rather start with I. Then further along, should read; Now the first thing you're going to say is, how in the world ...etc. And the last sentence, again, it's friends and not friend's.
paragraph 6 - just a question, but how did a Celtic Priest land up living in 'darkest Africa?' Further along, I think you meant 'from' and not 'form'.
paragraph 8 - 6th line, I think you meant 'made' and not 'mad'.
paragraph 11 - again, it is 'ostriches' and not 'ostrich's'. And further along, I think you meant 'of' and not 'fo'. Again on the 7th line it should read, ostriches.
paragraph 13 - I think you meant, "Holy cow," the old man sighed, "I never imagined they would get that big!" Further on, leave a space between early and the. Gobbled not gobbled. 2nd last sentence; Well, my friends, ... etc.
Best wishes
