“Please come back again!” You said cheerfully as a customer exited the store. You sighed as you thought of what the majority of the men had been buying. You sighed. As always. Same old Hatake Kakashi. You thought as you went over a hidden cabinet by the counter and took out a red book. “As always. Same old Hatake Kakashi-san.” You said, repeating your thoughts from earlier as you voiced them out loud. “Here’s your book. He glanced at you with his eyes almost bursting with fake tears. You rolled your eyes and decided to smirk. You were absolutely not going to fall for that trick. “It… It’s not… It’s not an Icha Icha Paradise Poster…?” 16

You raised an eyebrow. “What? Don’t you like it?”17

“But… But… It’s… It’s just the picture that I gave you of my team…”18

You snickered. “Don’t you like this poster? I made it especially for you. You just have too many porn stuff to last you a lifetime. And besides, you need a change of scenery. And I just thought that a huge picture of your genin team will fit.” Now it was your turn for your eyes to go upwards into amused arches.19

Kakashi just chuckled as he scratched the back of his head. “Err… well… thanks. Here’s the payment.” He said as he handed you some bills. 20

You snickered as you took it from his hands. “And I almost thought that I had to sue you just for you to pay for that book.” You said as you then entered the price in the cash register before packing the book and poster before giving the receipt. “So… as far as I know you, you wouldn’t leave the shop until it closes. You can sit down there and start reading that porn book that you oh so love. I’ll read my own decent book.” You stated with slight sarcasm as you sat down and opened your book back to the page where you stopped.21

Kakashi watched you with interest as you read — eyes and mind mesmerized to the book. He hid his face under his books as his eyes went back into arches. He really found you interesting. You were the only girl who wasn’t a shinobi who put up with his perverted means. He believes that you knew that he had been hitting on you ever since, but you just ignored it.23

You treated him as a normal person. You don’t treat him differently because he’s a ninja. You never did. For you, he was just Hatake Kakashi. Nothing more.24

He then glanced at your book. “You really like that book, don’t you?” He said as he placed his book down to get your attention.30

You glanced at him and nodded. “Yeah! This book is my favorite! This is the book that was passed down from our family for generations. It’s a few centuries old but it still looks like new. Father told me that there’s chakra binding the book’s properties together to make it last. I’m not a shinobi, but I know that it’s true.” You said.31

“How do you know it’s true?”32

You gave out a smile. “I have a special ability to see chakra through my eyes. It’s inborn, you see. Every member of my family has it. I guess it’s what you ninjas call as a doujutsu, ne?” 33

Kakashi nodded. Now he was interested. “What’s the book about?” He asked.34

You raised an eyebrow. This was the first time that he started a conversation without any porn topic involved. “This is a book about our family’s history. Generation after generation, the records automatically change. There’s a jutsu that is used in this book, you see. It won’t get destroyed in any way. I love history books, and what history book is more wonderful than something that tells the history of your own family?” You said as you glanced at the book in your hands.35

You grinned. “Our ancestors were ninjas. I love reading things about them. I don’t know why my father didn’t want me to become a ninja. But well… since I’m the heiress of the family, after I pass this book to my eldest child — if I ever have any — the book will state something about the very first heiress who never did become a ninja.” You stated. “I guess my father just wanted this for my own good. And besides, I’m not really into killing people. I’m more into reading books.”36

“This book holds a lot of secrets… Not just our family’s secrets, but perhaps the entire village. It was kept hidden. Only certain members of our family were trusted to keep this secret. And I intend to keep it that way. This book should not go into the wrong hands… and of course, as the heiress of the current generation of the family, I will not allow that to happen.” 37

He smiled behind his mask. It was something new… a new knowledge that shouldn’t be brought out to the public. You trusted him, and he won’t betray that trust.38

You glanced at your watch before looking at him. “The shop will close anytime soon. You may want to leave now, Kakashi-san.” You stated as you placed the book down and snapped your fingers, making the book disappear from sight. His eyes widened.39

I thought she wasn’t a ninja…?40

And as if reading his mind, well… not exactly… you just thought that he was thinking it, you gave out a smile. “It’s the only jutsu that I know.” You told him as you turned the sign to close. You then faced him. “Well… good night then, Kakashi-san.” You then walked past him as a hidden bitter smile then appeared in your lips.41

“Enjoy your porn book. I’ll be seeing you next month.” 42

But as you were about to turn off the lights, a hand immediately held your shoulder and turned you around. You were about to scream ‘pervert’ when something blocked the exit of your voice…43

You sighed. “A pervert is always a pervert, I always say.” You murmured as you placed your hand against your lips as you turned around to enter your house. 52
