How long must I wait?

Good things come to those who wait.1

My mother told me so.2

But how long must I wait on fate3

to set your heart aglow?4

Some things can't be washed away:5

the way I feel for you.6

How salty your indifference sprays7

into this gaping wound.8

Sad things come like lightening bolts:9

Your arm around her waist.10

How my heart thrashes, sparks, and jolts11

to see you interlaced. 12

Good things come like waterfalls:13

Your glance at me last night.14

How my pulse pounded, thrilled to haul15

that flood of pure delight. 16

Slow things come like dripping sand:17

this time I wait on you.18

But good things come to those who wait,19

so wait is what I'll do. 20

This is sooo sweet. I liked it very much. A write that sometimes is true. Sometimes the one you love just doesn't understand that you care so much for them. Thanks for sharing this and thanks for entering it into my contest.
