Deep within 5

Anna-lee sat watching Lou sleep, ‘Oh god everything IS my fault and I can’t do anything to stop it now’ she thought to herself. She gently, so as not to wake her, turned over Lou’s arm to see the cuts again. Her eyes brimmed with tears, the spilled and came like a tidal wave; she had been holding them back all evening. Some of her tears dripped onto Lou’s arm, the cuts they had landed on seemed to heal almost instantly leaving just a faint white scar, Anna-lee stopped crying, she was shocked and did a double take, but still half the cuts on Lou’s arm were now just faint lines. ‘Meg’ she called still shocked, ‘look’, and Meg woke up with a start and jumped off the chair she was sitting on and walked towards where Anna-lee was, She was Lou’s arm and gasped. ‘How the hell?’ she asked, clearly as shocked as Anna-lee ‘I…I don’t know, I was crying and some of my tears dripped on her arm and….’ She replied not really understanding herself. She puzzled over it her expression showing that she was very confused. 1

    It was the next morning and Anna-lee’s sleep had been fit full and kept waking with a start then finding it hard to get back to sleep, trying to sleep in a hard plastic chair probably didn’t help.  She looked at her watch it read 7:10 and she decided to go and find a drinks machine and something to eat, she asked a nurse to tell either Meg or Lou where she was then left. After she had eaten she went outside and called Arien, her best friend. ‘Arien?’2

‘Hey what’s up?’ Arien replied ‘it’s a bit early your not usually up yet’ she added quizzically.3

‘Um well I’m at the hospital..’ She started to explain but got cut off by Arien sounding instantly worried.4

‘Oh my god why what’s happened? Are you ok?’ Arien interjected.5

‘Yeah I’m fine but Lou isn’t, she… she…’ Daemon broke off sobbing quietly. 6

‘Oh Daemon I’m coming, I’ll be there soon, at about 8:30, I hope your ok’ Arien said almost crying herself quickly rang off. 7
