It’s a funny thing being a child whose fate has not yet been decided. To be the hero, side-kick, villain or co-star? And of course to which adventure or life-style will life lead us to? Finding yourself is the journey that life takes us on. Our decisions, the fork in the road; our friends and family, crossings; our problems, traffic jams and delays. Finding our talents; finding our weaknesses. Taking ideas from those who came before us and finding our own unique ideas and inspiring the generations to come. 2

I, as a child forming and finding my own path in life can say that at times it is most frustrating. To be living a life and not knowing what to do with it or what will become of it makes it feel like a waste. What makes it even more infuriating is the endless advice and demands that teachers, friends, parents, experts, magazine articles, nature and your own conscience pesters you with. At the same time they are all quite inspiring and exciting. Questions and answers are the worst of all. 3

What is the meaning and purpose of life?4

You are told many things: 42, achievement, love, family, nature, enjoyment, knowledge, contribution to society, happiness etc. etc. (the last one is my favourite)5

They all seem so important, and they are the many forks in the road ahead. How far away? I cannot say. What will I choose? I do not know.6

What I do know is that this fork in the road is faced by all at some stage, and that whether you are a name that goes down in history or a story that fades into the dust of the earth and time we are all blessed to life, and, providing that you are not the villain of your story there shall be moments throughout life that are priceless, and it is these that will give each person fulfilment at the end of this section of their road. 7

    indeed!I find it amazing that you can have, formulate, ask and write and post those questions on the cusp of the terrible teens.

    Congratulations or condolances, but it appears to me you are destined to become a writer!

    I used to think...and perhaps I still do, that the first hard choice a person makes is between two doors,which one to open. Sometimes you can go back and open the other one, sometimes the door you open closes behind you and you can never go back.

    Then, behind which door you choose, there are two doors and then four and doubling each time as long as you dare ask questions and seek answers.

    Thank you for sharing such a wonderful write.
