Conviction: Chapter 2:Invincibility

Alex closed his eyes as hard as he could as he saw the truck barrelling towards him. He felt the grill of the truck grind his ribs and tear them apart, and he felt his blood splatter everywhere.1

Will I finally die now? Thought Alex.2

The deadly barrage of steel against flesh, sinew and bones continued. The shocked onlookers saw the truck swerve and slam Alex into a wall. Alex felt his skull shatter, and his brain being pierced. His spine twisted and ripped, the bones splintering and slashing through his skin. The truck slowly back up, and Alex lay in a glistening pool of blood, and he could feel bits of his body laying around him.3

However, he felt no pain. He felt his bones, his flesh, string and snapping themselves back together, his eyes filling back up with liquid, his brain growing back, and his skull slowly mending. His sight returned, and he gingerly stood up.4

In thirty seconds, what once had been a pile of ripped apart cells, stood Alex, standing a puddle of his own blood and organs, as well as ever.5

The crowd started rioting.6

"WHAT KIND OF A TRICK IS THIS? IS THIS SOMETHING TO SHOW OUR CHILDREN?!!"7

"HE'S A MONSTER! DESTROY HIM!!!!"8

Suddenly, the crowd lurched forwards, and someone threw a gasoline can at him along with a match. Alex was drenched head to toe with the smelly gasoline, but he dodged the match. He decided to get into the truck and try to drive away. Suddenly, a flaming rag flew through the air and landed in the engine of the truck. Alex had just climbed into the truck. The man who drove the truck had jumped out and ran away.9

WHOOSH!!! BOOM!!!10

The truck exploded in a firey fury of steel shrapenel and heat. Alex felt himself being hurtled 20 feet into the air, and felt himself being cooked thoroughly. He smashed into the ground with a thickening thud. A few seconds later, he got up and sped away.11

He met no resistance as he pushed through the crowd, as everyone screamed and/or ran away in fear. 12

Suddenly he stopped when he had reached the edge of the crowd. His eyes opened wide as he contemplated what had just happened.13

Just as he had revived and tried to escape, someone had almost ran him down with a truck. Just as he had tried to escape in the truck, someone had blown it up.14

People were trying to get rid of him. His eyes opened wide in fear as he thought of this, but realized something else that helped strengthen him.15

He was invincible.
