Bird and Whip stiffened. For sure, this is where the other dogs where. Their acrid stench told Bird everything. 1
"Well well well," A rough, menacing voice said. With a silent gasp, Bird froze. Slowly her eyes looked to her left side. Farther away was a large Doberman, followed by two other dogs. One was a gray Akita with a white hairloom like a mowhawk, and the other was a huge, black mastiff looking dog. "Who are you two?"Bird couldn't answer.2
"Hey, you're on our territory!" Whip barked, jumping next to Bird to face them. Bird winced; Whip could never defeat all three of these dogs.3
"Says who?" The huge mastiff answered. Bird became aware that they where edging nearer and nearer...4
Slowly, Bird turned to look at them. But soon, she regreted it.5
"And who is this pretty lady?" The doberman asked. Finally, the three dogs came to a halt about six feet infront of them. Bird jumped back catiousley.6
"Hey, thats none of your buisness!" Whip growled.7
"Oh but it is," The doberman showed his fangs with a viciouse snarl.8
"Hey, leave him alone!" Bird yelled. She could feel her fear being replaced with anger and a sense of protection for her friend. She had already lost Eclipse, she wasn't letting Whip go too. On the inside, she shook with terror, but on the outside, somehow, she was able to steady herself. She was able to hold her ground. LIttle did she know, Whip felt the same way. "We cant take these guys alone..." she whispered to Whip. He nodded, eyes ixed on the doberman. Before Birdy could protest, he raised his head to the sky and howled. Several calls answered him.9
Moth had been greiving in her cave. "Eclipse... I'm so sorry," she cried. Her ears where flat to her head and tears ran silently down her cheeks. When suddenly, a cry for help rang out. Her ears shot up and she looked out the entrance. "Bird!" she gasped and began to run outside into the valley. 10
"Where is Bird?" Moth turned her head to see her mate, Kiba, running towards her with Fang and the Great dane.11
"She is out in the valley, by the forest of cherry blossom trees!" Moth barked. Kiba's eyes widened and he joined Moth with the other Fang and the Great Dane.12
"Jake, can you see them?" Kiba asked, looking up to Jake, the great dane.13
"Not from here," he answered, looking on. "But I can smell them and three other dogs."14
"Bad mistake kid," The doberman growled. "Whos going to help you out here?" He began to stalk towards them when another cry broke out.15
"Hey, you! Get away from our kids!" Kiba barked. The doberman looked to his right to see all four charging for him.16
"We are outnumbered!" He barked to his comrads. "Run!" but as he turned around, Bird decided that he had to know never to come back. She hurled her light body through the air, and sunk her teeth into the Dobermans right hind leg. He stopped wuickly and tried to shake her off but it was to late; Kiba grabbed his neck. Bird couls see her mother and Jake fighting the other Akita while Fang handled the big, black mastiff-like dog. The dobermans clawed foot flew up. Bird didnt even have time to let go. The huge back paw slammed into her chest and sent her flying back to Whip. Her body hit the ground with a sickening 'thump!' and she didnt move.17
"Bird!" Whip yelled. "Bird, wake up!"18
